I think the controversy over this bear was someone had been feeding it turning it into a nuisance bear. The price guy mentioned is one of many brothers who regularly hunt with my wife's family in PA. Love going up when they're up at the family's land.

That bear was killed in 2010. A guy had fed it since a cub and had pics hugging it. It was named by the locals so when it was killed it created same reaction as Cecil the lion. Hunter was investigated and received the usual public outcry threats but nothing illegal by the hunter was found from the investigation.
