suggestions for a russian boar hunt
looking for a place to do a quality Russian boar hunt? somewhere in the U.S.. any suggestions
Used to hunt them in Vermont..Wild hill preserve..arrowed some slammers there..they no longer offer them though..Gonna try the Wilderness Preserve in Pa this coming Spring with my son..reviews are great and I spoke to the owner Andy and he seems like a real good guy..I know they have various size boars..not sure where you are traveling from..Spartan has big boar too..think they are in Tenn ? Lots of fun to shoot..good eats and look cool on the wall..good luck
it's tough to find real Russians in the US now that import is illegal. Used to get some nice ones from ranches in Canada
Here is one I had done. The pics don't do it justice.
Lol I'm sorry I miss read. I thought you were looking for a taxidermist. Good luck finding one as they are rare!
Hunt4life, you are right the pictures don't do that monster justice.
I saw that thing and it was huge.
Talk to Matt Napper at Shiloh he might be able to hook you up.
Best of luck.
Check High Adventure hunting ranch. I had a buddy go there with his father and took a couple nice Russians!!
But if you are looking for some really nice wild boars..check out Hunters Creek Ranch in Mt Vernon Texas

I have heard good things about superiour game ranch in Upper Michigan
Is a DNA test included? Google russian boars and look at those from Eastern Europe. I don't see anybody on this side of pond offering anything like those beast. Think the gene pool here has been to diluted. Some here, do have general appearance but not the authenticity. Your right that Alberta strain is damn close. The place in U P michigan claims to have those.
There was a place in the mid Atlantic region that advertized pure Russians. I beleive there was an article on them in Sporting Classics magazine a while back.
Theres also a mag called Boar Hunter that I believe I saw an ad for the same place?
I hunted Superior game ranch in the spring of 2014,,, I assisted for 2 wounded warriors, a father and son, one from Nam, the other from Afghanistan,,,,,,
anyway, the place was great, and although high fence, their pigs are in over 600 acres,,,,,, when we were there the snow was gone, it was in April,,,,
In 3 days I could not get within my shooting range of 20 or less on a quality pig, things have the best noses..... ( I was shooting my checkmate recurve)
everything about the place was great,,,,,,
I also know that North Star Game Ranch in Iowa has a very good reputation

You may have to go to Russia. I believe everything here are just ferral hogs.
