Does anyone know of a good outfitter in unit 44 for mule deer?

Mossback has their guides camped out there all year. They'll sit on a big buck and watch him for days until you can show up if you're willing to pay their price.

44 would be a tough bet during archery season! The herd is highly migratory and it can be super tough finding deer in Aug/Sept. With that said there are deer that don't migrate but you'll have your work cut out for you...even if you get on private land. You may want to take a look at Piney Valley. There hunts aren't cheap though!

Piney Valley is in 35 and 36. Massive mule deer on that ranch, though, or there used to be.

Piney Valley used to have land in 44 and probably still do...but you are right about 35, 36. If you want a big muley buck you ought to hire the UT guy with mule teeth! His clients have harvested some mondo bucks in 44 and Gunnison Basin (where he got in trouble!).
