After 2 weeks of attending sportshows we decided to take a drive to Gracemont Oklahoma for a spot and stalk bow hunt for a wild hog at No Mercy.
Here is Brady with his guide Denny.
The wild hogs were hard to close the deal on as they were quite nervous.
Heres the 2 trying to stalk a bunch of hogs in the thicket.
Could never get close to the Elk, seemed very skidish when approached.
Many times we were ready to launch an arrow when they would take off running. The hog is standing at the right of the brush.
Found out that this wasn't as easy as we thought it was going to be.
I sat on a 2 man stand to get pictures while they did another stalk. This guy never did come right in for a good picture.
There were steep ravines along with quite a few acres of fields.
These deer never would show themselves for pictures.
After about 4 hours Brady finally got his Wild Hog.
Denny knows bow hunting and his wild hogs. I would recommend " No Mercy" to anyone wanting a spot and stalk hog hunt. Its a blast chasing those hogs all over the vast acreage.
Here is The 2 guides getting ready to skin and quarter the hogs.
I think its $40.00 to have them skin and quarter. Cost of hunt was $275.00 for the half day of spot and stalking.
If you require lodging it was $35.00 a person.
We arrived at 1:30pm in the afternoon and was on our way with our meat at 7:30pm.
There were 7 hunters, 6 of which took hogs the first night, 5 with gun. We never saw another hunter till we went and picked up the others.
The hogs are stored in a cooler attached to the skinning area.
Visiting "No Mercy" was a great way to get exercise after sitting behind a booth at the shows for 2 weeks.
"No Mercy" are sponsors of Bowsite.
yep, Denny is a beast. LOL
