Headed to Idaho this spring for my first spot n stalk black bear hunt. This will be my second backcountry mountain hunt. I'm headed out with a buddy of mine, and we r looking at the bitterroot wilderness. Just curious if anyone has been there and/or done the same. I've bear hunted over bait. But this will be a lot different so if anyone has input on what to expect. What they would've done different. Any info is great, thanks

It's very thick and I mean very thick. But there is lots of bears. What time of year are you coming out? Logging roads all over most of the units 12 and 10. If I was going to spot and stalk it would be in the salmon river country. Hunt

Mid May is a good time. Good luck. Some times it looks different on the ground . Google earth can be VERY deceiving . Best of luck . Hunt
