I took 8,000 lbs. of bait up to camp yesterday and was amazed we never got the blast of snow up there that southern Manitoba got last week while I was in Mexico. Virtually no snow, even in shaded spots in the forest anywhere. But here's the not very common sighting I encountered on the way home. Bear tracks! And not one set but in 2 different places. Very cool to see.

Great news Ron! Incredible how early things are this year. Those early dates are looking better all the time, I think it was meant to be!

That's cool Ron, what an odd year. Some whitetails are still carrying antlers here and a buddy south of Saskatoon said most of the big muleys there are still packin'. Plan to start some bear baits next week will be interesting to see if any bruins out and about, earliest tracks seen last year were April 20.

I've seen the same black bear twice now hanging his head and shoulders out of his den. First time on March 16, then again on March 22. South central BC. The frost has been out since late January around here when the snow melted. It has been a super easy winter.
