This is what it looks like in Manitoba this morning we have had a rea nice winter, the bear feeding will start in a few weeks we pray we have a good and safe year as usual. The Desjardins
Sorry guys had to reado thread. We built a 16 x24 cabin on our new place, I wanted to build bigger but the wife talked me out of it. The guys will enjoy this one. A few more days she will be done.
a bear from last year hope this one comes back.
Keep forgetting to tell Pat to change my main posture hunted Manitoba for over 40 years, been guideing since 1990 26 years sure have enjoyed it the stories after the hunt is special. And meeting some great people love it truly blessed.
I kept a lot of pics not sure which ones I posted which ones I didn't some guys never seen them before all good I guess.
Got my first bear allocation in 1994 four tags, then in 1998 me and Allan bought out Manfred Racine along the Riding Mountains
Me and Grape have gotten close over the last couple years not a week goes by without contact, that's what it about u come as hunters and leave as friends.
There is I believe 2800 square kilometers in the Riding Mountains where there is no hunting allow, its a good sanctuary and breeding grounds u just never know whats going to come out of there boone and pockets and boone and crockets.
Some rough looking characters in this one.
hope it don't warm up to quik the bears will keep there hair on better, we start on May 2nd this year earliest ever, next year on the 8th some years first week of may still snow here.
we will get some fresh pics on in a few weeks if the bears cooperate
The crew is coming out this afternoon for supper she should be a good day. take care
Hope you had a great Easter with your family Alexis. Great picts as usual. Best wishes for another terrific spring. Looking forward to your thread! Continued blessings to you & your family.
Hoping you have a terrific season Alexis! Looking forward to following......
Best of luck to you this season Alexis! Thanks for sharing your hunt again in 2016! Happy Easter to you and your family.
This is on April's on the edge of the field very little snow early spring looking like, bring it on tired of winter.
With mild weather here in Manitoba they could be up earlier...I am wondering if we might see some up in the next 7-10 days with the temps.
I started chasing walleyes in the rivers yesterday. Now when I am standing in that cold fast water, I can dream about another spring of hunting bears. Thanks Alexis!
Greg how many walley did u hook they are tasty in cold water, wanted to get out again just to many things on the go. Roose I think the bear are moving already with the mild temps when they will start eating anyone's guess, I think your close with the 7-10 day they will be looking.
Hi Alexis great job on cabin look very nice. Hope all is well Looking forward to coming back up there for a great hunt and fellowship. Thanks for the threads.See you soon God Bless.
Yes it is coming quick the snow is darn near gone here Randy 1month u will be here, good time with the early spring. I got to take my big team out to the mountain this winter one of the few times. God bless bro.
The Bears went back to sleep it's been cold here and will be for the rest of the week 25 fh this morning. There is 3 elk in the field if u can pick them out. That's the only ones I seen on our new place last October on different occasions.
We still have 3 tags left for 2017 between us if your looking for a quality bear hunt give us a call. The cabin is getting close to being finished its been a three month project for us.
There's the washroom, shower u will have to come for a Bearhunt in the future we will show u great time and some nice bear.
Great pics.....hope you have a fantastic season again this year. Ran into Allan at the Wisconsin Deer and Turkey Classic Saturday.
We were thinking of bunk beds but decided against after a bit of feed back from one of the guys, we have two beds and want to get a couple fold away cots, is there any comfortable cots out there that u can sleep 6 nights on without getting a sore back? We have never had cots lots of u guys have used them what's your thoughts or suggestions on them would greatly be appreciated. God bless have a great day.
Thanks Bob, we will be thinking of u was good having u come up again, Glad Allan andCelina made it there safely. Take care
Cabin looks good uncle like your door on the washroom.
Thanks it was aunties idea with the door I like it too. One of my old bait site I may revive one day.
Cabin looks good. We're actually doing those barn doors in two of the houses we are building right now.
The different kinds of finished wood looks great. Good luck with this years hunt!!
Thanks Guys, The barn look is down your way too Joe we really like it that's good u guys are doing it too gives a place character I think. Spike hope u guys have a great spring and fall bear hunt, happy for u guys getting your spring hunt back. Good luck
This thing come up for sale close to home wanted to try one, she will come in handy in the swamp ey boys.
Great picts Alexis.... Love your spring threads. They always tell so much about the story behind the hunt. Best wishes for a terrific spring.
Thanks Chuck u going to make it to Swan River this year? The boys and Girls are enjoying there fresh bale this morning another 3 inches of snow fell last night, some more coming. I will get all the baits done before weeks end May 2 is coming fast the first group will be here.
Not sure if I will make it up or not. We have a ton of work lined up for this spring and the late snows, cold weather and rain are really messing us up. I think that's why I enjoy your threads so much. Bear hunting in Manitoba is incredible but there is so much more to the story...
Thats good that your busy Ibow nothing wrong with having lots of work, it comes before play. U don't want to be in Manitoba right now it's been not so good weather, next week it suppose to change around. Have a great day all.
The camp pics is Allan the brother inlaw and sister Celina and a war vet he had brought along, we were camped in the Riding mountains for a few days late last fall. On night it got down to -10 all I had was a light tent and an old three star sleeping bag with no zipper and a little heater blowing on top of me and I darn near froze that was the coldest night ever for me sleeping outside.
We have a few spots come available for 2016 spring or fall if anyone interested we would love to have u.
Me and my Grandson last fall after whitetail we hunted hard for 4 days but didn't connect.
Sorry could not get the pic straightend out for some reason
We got her straightened with some help from Charlie.
Cold this morning in Manitoba -11 Celsius, that's why I got cold last fall in my sleeping bag sheeesh still have the shivers.
Working on the outhouse today, after we bought this place I had cameras up for wildlife and seeing who was going into our place. There was traffic at all hours so I put this gate up they have to walk in now.
My wife asked me why I built itso tall I said for the tall guys, she's only 5/2 but it the first one I build could of been shorter, the carpenter was cheep though.
Hi Alexis looks cold how are baits doing any pic from cam yet.weather here is also cold.See you soon will cabin be ready for 1st set of hunters?
Monday we can start on the baits along the mountain there won't be nothing moving with this weather another week for sure before they start moving I figure. It will be good hides for the most part by the end of next week maybe we will have some hits. Your hunt is coming quick we will keep in touch. The cabin is pretty much done it won't be licensed for the spring the fall I am hoping. We have a couple nice campers for you's to stay in u will like. Can't wait to get at the bear steak. See u soon
hey Jmail I was doing some advertising for u last spring. I was getting my cameras ready this morning found some pics from late last May thought I would share with yous this morning. Joe malloch is jmail
It is cold again today just sitting around the house a good time to go on bowsite put some pics on some guys like looking at them, I enjoy looking at pictures.
looks like we will be hunting in June from now on maybe get a few big boars.
I wonder how many colored bears the guys are going to take this year I have quite a few veterens coming the colors are hard to resist.
I am just wired today anxious to get at it, the boys are starting to call there pumped also hope it warms up a little this week.
Nothing like listening to the stories after a night out in the stands I love it, a good fellowship with great people.
You all getting pumped for bear season, hope its a safe one for u guys.
Allans camera didn't take one night picture wondering if any big ones came in the last few days of May, no pics of any during the day.
we have us a dirty wind today cold went to work outside for a bit blows right through u.
We usually have some different bear come to the baits most nights but sometimes they come in once and u never see them again
I don't know if this is the one that jumped in Allans sleigh when he was baiting one day, I think he got a pic of him but I didn't see it. There was a hunter with him that day that would of been funny.
Got all the bear bait for this year in the shed get at it on Monday.
we will end with this one I think we will be skinning a few small ones and a few big ones again this year. u all have a great weekend
Hey Alexis, thanks for the free advertising. Looking like some good quality construction on that out house!! Can't wait to get up there. Only 4 weeks from today.
Went to some new areas today for bear stands it was a good day found some promising spots. Elgin the brother inlaw was the guide today we were in his backyard I would say.
Didn't see any bear tracks yet won't be long weeks end they should start moving its been cold here the last while. Elgin checking things out at one of the stands.
We were heading back out of what I call now the south end baits.
Joe or any of my guys do u know where this is?
Had a heck of a time finding my barrels at this bait they drug them a long ways last fall, we finally found them
Great picts Alexis! We are finally supposed to warm up here near week's end. Hoping that warm weather sweeps over you guys to the northwest first!
Hi Alexis That pic look like miker's stand looks cold. But warm weather is on its way.
Hi Alexis That pic look like miker's stand looks cold. But warm weather is on its way.
Thanks Chuck, the weather is starting to change warmer weather will be nice. Randy u are right that's coming out of Mikers it won't be long 3 weeks u guys are at it. Tom called for an address to get here going to punch it in to the Gps, your going to miss that drive Randy taking the plane.
Hi Alexis That pic look like miker's stand looks cold. But warm weather is on its way.
Alexis, recognized that road right away. Randy, once you take the plane you'll never drive again. I can usually make it in 13 hours door to door flying out of Boston.
this stuff gets a guy pumped up
This what Bear Hunters wait for all winter...Thanks Lexi
This what Bear Hunters wait for all winter...Thanks Lexi
Our veteran bear hunters know every road and tree between our bait stands that's good there paying attention. That deer pic that's not here lol
That picture looks like the clump of trees at the frog pond.
No Joe it's at the south end new one. iPhone won't download right now,
Was looking at it on my phone earlier. I guess I better get stronger reading glasses!!
Hi Joe The ride is tuff 32hr straight threw.I will bringing a backpack on plane and Tom will bring my bow and my gear. I would like to talk with you about regulation on the bear transportation.
Finally got rid of this tree where was it?
Good Job Alexis...The entrance to the swamp just improved 100 %...take that chain saw all the way up the west side of that mud trail...Don't stop cutting now!!
Grape, that trail is a peice of cake compared to the way we used to have to get in there. I remember when we used to have to walk a mile plus in carrying the bait!! Randy, give me a call. Be happy to talk to you. You still have my number?
Joe.... I walked seven miles to school..uphill both ways.. If Lexi wants to go crazy with his chainsaw...let him go!!
I think I can get in there with the Argo now did a bit of trimming here and there. This is up that trail also
Where is this guys? Tricky one
On the trail to the last bait the only one I didn't get was the cabin the rest are waiting for the bear
The north side of the swamp and headed to the north bait..
The north side of the swamp and headed to the north bait..
Your sharp this morning Greg good job, this bridge I helped Alan with put it in a crossing that we had a heck of a time crossing at times, it's good now.
One of the small creeks coming out of the mountain
We will be putting tin on the house today, u all have a great day.
Seen a blonde bear tonight with brown legs pretty bear 200 lbs roughly, not far from home.
That bridge will sure make getting to the hill bait alot easier. Good news seeing a bear out. Looks like most of the snow is gone. With the sun getting high in the sky and warmer weather coming bears should be on the baits soon. Can't wait to see some pictures!!
It was warm today and yesterday Joe next week we will get some pics I think, may is coming fast. I have to quit these projects started putting a roof on our deck today I am a spur of the moment guy. The wife wanted it for a while.
Got some critters visiting camp don't like them coming around especially skunks they will have a surprise
This one didn't make it, the frogs were finally out last night the Bears will start to move another nice morning here in Manitoba. Start checking baits tommorow see if there starting to come. U all have a great day.
First bear of the year nice color one seen on our property last night big black, one week and a half and the boys will be looking at bears.
could not change the time on that camera that was in the last two nights.
cool now we will start seeing photos
Had another hit on the hill bait can't open the card they are going to start I'm happy it will be perfect timing begin of May. Hope u guys do well with your bear hunting adventures this year.
Just filled baits on Sunday, and going back on the weekend to check things out.
If u guys get some bear pics I would like to see them,
This is great Alexis, I enjoy following this thread every spring. Hopefully in the next week you'll be getting lots of trail cam pics to share with us! Stay safe and best of luck to you and your hunters!
Thanks Brotsky,we were up in the new area yesterday setting up a few more spots that look promising, checked a few of our regular baits this morning. There is some bear moving for sure one camera was on video got a big black on it in the night, got another pic of a black in the night on another stand, got a few pics of bear on another bait. Allan will pull some cards tonight on the other baits, some other baits were hit with no cameras. more cameras on the bucket list.
I am excited about this springs hunt coming up hope it a safe one for everyone. Good color in the night, my helper had a tick on him yesterday little rascals are coming out already.
Alexis, looks like a pretty good colored in the dark there. Hope he's still around in another couple weeks. Get yourself some permethrin and spray it on your clothes and boots. Let it dry and it will last for weeks or 4-8 washings. Whichever comes first. Makes a world of difference keeping ticks off you. You should be able to order it through amazon or Cabelas.
Ok thanks Joe, they don't bother me much, some of the bear hunters don't like them much. Most of the baits were hit this week it will be good hunting early this year. Have to go on a road trip to British Columbia for a few days be back Monday the lord willing. Till next week u all have a great weekend
I got some more licenses this month if anyone is interested for this spring or this falls hunt, if there is only one or two of u we can pretty much take u any week. The price is 2900.00 all inclusive this place is as good as there is for colors and numbers come check it out. Stuck in the swamp again Argo from now on. Off on my trip, have a great day
jmail 20, does that spray really dry scent free? I'd love to pick some up to treat my clothes, but I am worried about the scent issue especially with spring bears. Any problems with bears or deer busting you while using it?
Josh, It really is scent free. At least I can't smell it. I have been using it for the last 3 years spring bear and I've never been busted because of it. The stuff I use is made by Sawyer and works great. Got it through Amazon.com
Joe, that sounds good to me. I will have to pickup a bottle to take to camp this year. I will be a little further north in Manitoba but if the ticks are bad I wouldn't mind having a scent free solution. I hate those little SOBs.
Sawyer permethrin spray works well but even better is their "Saturation" kit. You get a bottle of solution and a plastic bag in the kit. I put a shirt, pants, and a pair of socks in the bag then add the solution and water per instructions to the bag. Seal the bag (It has a sealing system) and let the clothes soak for a few hours. Take the clothes out and let them air dry. I have yet, after several years of use, to have a tick attach and have only once or twice found one crawling on me. The treatment seems to last at least 4-5 washings. The kits are available on the internet.
Got back on here been busy getting things ready for our guys next week, the bears are hitting real good all baits were hit this morning. having problems with my cameras just got a couple pics for u.
A giant in the night on Aprils, a beautiful day in Manitoba.
Building a few buddy stands, I bought one but I would not use it for bear hunting just too noisy junk I think. This maybe the same as one of the last two, there is two different shooters for sure.
No baiting today put up one buddy stand today that was a chore 1 he or so later I got it up with the bike winch.
They will do the happy dance on these stands
Upper Mikers looks good with the new stand. That had to be a chore by yourself. Good job!!
Wish u could of been here to help Greg u don't want to be moving them stands around they are tough to put up. But lots of room on them there a little wider than factory, I think they will be good. We will see what the feed back will be on them this year I will build more if they are ok.
Hi Alexis yes nice stand do you have any old rug to tack down on floor great for soundly will be there in a day look forward to seeing you guys. Looks like a great week for bear hunting.
I never thought of rug on it I will find some, went and did the new baits today very happy with them they were all hit, one of the new ones on my sister and husbands place it wasn't a week old does a bear crap in the woods no doubt on that stand. The boys are going to make the hair fly in a few days, bear steak this week. Randy we will see u in a few days have a safe trip. I am excited for this weeks hunt the lord willing it will be a good one.
Got the bear camp ready to go pretty much the boys are on there way 6 of them this week should be good lots of action on the baits. Sorry no picks for u today I was going to do baits and Alan was ambitious yesterday and did the rest, should have some pics on Monday. There was a black bear in Aprils field today tried to get within 400 yards no way I was about 600 and he seen me and took off, that story that bears don't see that good its a story they see very good.
Enjoy the spring hunt Alexis. I always enjoy following your posts.
Thanks Ron, hope all is well with you and family. It's another beautiful morning in Manitoba the weather looks great for the week one day it's suppose to hit 30 Celsius that's hot. U all have a great day.

Great start Alexis! Congrats to the hunters and to you. Great work and thanks for sharing the pics with us!
Rattles33 I have been thinking about what u asked for I feel for u when u don't have high speed, I prefer not to break up the thread I hope u can still manage to look once in a while. I do nt have high speed either it's a little frustrating trying to post pics on bowsite at times, but with a little patience it gets done. The boys are up in the stand just waiting for a bear to skin. U all have a great evening
Thanks Scoot for the kind words, if anyone wants to come hunt some bear got some extra tags in April to sellfor this spring or fall I think we can find u a few bear any week would work for us. got 4 new active baits going plus our regular ones.
The boys didn't kill anything last night one guy seen bear one didn't, there up in the stand right now hoping for a good evening it was hot today 37 on the truck thermometer.
We are having problems with cards , cameras this year I don't know whats going on but frustrating. Alan I think bought 5 new moultries there is only one he got pics from so far, the bears are realy starting to clean out the bait the numbers are getting higher at the stands.
The last pics are from this last few days we have some cameras cant change the dates on them time to buy more. Two guys left this week and five more coming on sunday see what the lord has in store the next few days.
Is there any green up starting to happen up there? Here in Winnipeg, the trees are greening up like crazy.
Same bear as one above in back of Truck.
Another picture of him. Heck of a nice bear with a perfect hide.
The leaves are popping out here Rattlingjunkie
Rattling junkie good news for some reason we always seem to do a bit better when just a bit green with leaves on trees
Another dead Riding Mountain bear Tom got it done last night roughly 250 beautiful chocolate, he seen the big boy dark chocolate also would not come in he has a 11 inch back pad. One guy left for tonight last kick at the cat. u all have agreat day.

Good morning everyone, we are loaded up with bikes and bait this morning waiting for the boys to get here. We are going to hunt the new baits tonight the two guys I have, never hunted bear before we will see what we can find them. They got to see a nice black last night at the camp so the anticipation is high I think. Wish them luck, Alan has 3 guys this week I think we will be skinning a few bear. No shortage of bears always good to see, lost one of my Moultrie cameras stinkin bear hauled it away my own fault did not make my cages good enough that's how u learn when it cost u.
This is Chris bear from last night 235 lbs nice coat.
Great bears!!! Great Pics!!!!
The boys are holding out they all seen bear last night waiting for a good one. One thing about hunting along a 2800 square kilometers National park with no hunting at all allowed you will never run out of bears and big bears. Looks like we may see some sun in Manitoba today, I think we will be skinning a few tonight.
My new cameras are coming on Friday maybe get some more unique pics, Hope we get a few more like this one this month. Thanks onetohunt, everyone have a good Godly day.
That log looks familiar in the last picture...the bear does'nt....Great pics
U know that bait Greg lol, the bears are waiting for u and Joe.
No bears down in camp last night one guy seen two , one seen one one seen none, the rains sure slowed them down. We are of to play in the mud. Have a great day I know I will.
We had fun this morning doing the new baits, took the Argo and the quad the boys got to drive it was a lot nicer than riding the back rack. This guy come and payed us a visit while we were baiting that was exciting at 10 yards. We will what the boys see tonight.
A couple more bear didn't make it in Manitoba, one of Alan's guys killed a black and my guy Aaron killed himself an beautiful color 252 lbs. It's snowing in Manitoba this morning got to love it. Alan has five guys this week I am his guide, my next crew is the week after. Stay tuned u all have a good day.
Beautiful bear! Got to be a happy Hunter there!
He sure is Chuck, him and his partner both were first time bear hunters they are hooked they both got beautiful bears that what it's about.
Alans last guy JMAIL passed on the bears not what he was looking for but we had a good week with the bears 4 for 5 taken no giants but some good bear. Alan has five guys this week we will see what the week brings for them.
There is quite a few sows with cubs on the baits this year don't know what that means a good population I guess.
There was one year the guys killed mostly sows there was not many boars we never did figure out the meaning of that either, someone told us if there is more sows than boars the population is going down but was not to be because the population has been getting higher.
She is a nicer day in Manitoba the snow has melted thank Godness u all have a good night.
Amazing number of colored bears you guys have! Great Picts Alexis. Looking forward to this coming week.
Lots of seed for the future.lookin good keep it up.
The guys that want a color have a real good chance of getting one, the outfitter we bought from told me there was a few years back in the day when u had a hard time getting a black hard to believe. This is the pic I wanted on there not the last, the boys are going to have to look the bears over good they are slipping some of them.
There is always some of these coming around just to connect is the tough part.
The sun is out this morning in Manitoba looks like a great day coming up. U all have a good one.
Some great bears Alexis! Really enjoying the thread this year. Congrats to you and your hunters!
Alans boys are in we did some baits this morning a lot of bear around and some good ones, the boys are ready to get at it should be a good night. Beautiful day in Manitoba looks like a great week coming up, got a few pics to share this morning.
Couple big boys in the night.
There is quite a few getting rubbed up the boys will have to watch for that.
Yous all have a great day, thanks brotsky glad u got your bear.
No dead bear last Night we are at it again today, lots of them around. had to share this pretty color with yous today. yous have the best day possible.
Two more didn't make it so far tonight both blacks we are waiting for the other three hunters they all have bear in front of them from what I gathered waiting for the right one. We will throw a few pics on tommorow some skinning to do in a while she is going to be a late night in Manitoba.
How do you keep the bears from eating your cameras?
We built some cages different ones we are starting to know what works we have had some chewed up also.
I havea couple pics of Alans boyswith there bears one I didn't get. This one was 185 lbs nice coat on him.
This one weighed in at 225 nice coat also, the first bear was Erics, the second is Verns bear.
No 3 bear of last night I did not get a pic of it weighed 308 lbs another nice bear of last night, 13 dead bears this spring so far all boars. We were going in to do a retrieval on this pic.

This was a happy hunter from last week with his bear, we set him up 50 yards from the bait in a ground blind
The bear weights for this week were 308, 275, 225, 185, 164 It was a good week I think this one coming will be better.
Here is a picture of your snow bear later that night. It was chilly one that day.
He looks better in that pic ey Joe.
He looks better in that pic ey Joe.
There is some of these paying me a visit while baiting, a little eary when u know your being watched

The boys and one lady made it to Grandforks ND they will make it here tomorrow I think everyone is anxious.
Hey JMAIL is that the sow u saw in the swamp
Great picts Alexis. Totally enjoying your thread again this year.
Can't believe how many colored bears. Then again, every year you seem to have a lot of them.
Thanks Chuck hope all is well.
This one posed for the camera, good night all.
All is well but missing Manitoba this spring. Wish I was there. Best wishes for your continued success this spring.
Hwy Alexis, here is a couple pictures of the sow I saw in the swamp. She's a big one. Had to look twice but I"m 100 percent sure she's a sow.
The last guy seen her a few times and said she is big but she was really getting rubbed by weeks end, he ended up getting a nice boar at the cabin 275 lbs.
The Argo is good but they still get stuck I find they don't have enough clearense with the tracks would be a lot better I think. Had to winch out yesterday got hung up in the mud.
This weeks hunters made it here safely, Grape is one of them we are having an evening of fellowship. Planning some for tommorow should be a good time this week
We got the baits done today we are shortly going to go to the stands all kinds at bears at the baits the last two days. Beautiful day in Manitoba, still a few Manitoba cubs around.
Our Lady hunter took out a nice chocolate last night been busy not much time to get on here. 4 guys left we will see what tonight brings.
I just sent you a pm Alexis. Thank you for your time
Ok Dconcrete, Well we had a good better than average night, two giants didn't make it one with the bow and the other with the muselloader. One was shot at 9.10 the other at 9.15 and listen to this they both exactly weigh in at 435 lbs, what's the chances of that happening on the same night same hour same weight that was unreal I still can't get over that what a night. I tell u there is two happy hunters, and the rest of the group are happy for them that's what it's about. We gutted them out last night we will get some pics this morning foggy out today hope the pics turn out. We will get back on here soon as a can its going to be another busy day still two guys to get bears we will keep working till they all get there tag filled. U all have a great day.
Here is Bill with his 435 lb bear from last night.
this is Elliots bear from last night weight is 435 lbs same as Bills.
Anxious to see what the official score is on these bears will be 2 pope and youngs for sure maybe a boone and crocket. Two more bear to get maybe tonight
Those are GREAT bears Alexis. I hunted the south border of Riding Mountain last week and the big one's just weren't out and about much and when they were they were VERY inconsistent. Great job.
Amazing. Great bears Alexis! Congrats!
Congratulations!! Nice bears and good pictures.
Thanks guys,We have a bear story from one of the guys last night. I droped him off at around 5 oclock got him in the stand he got himself set up it was raining a bit he sat till 6;30 he had a hanger that was not quite big enough to hold his shooting equipment he decided he was going to put a bigger hanger up. It was plenty early it should be ok to get up and change that, he got his hanger changed and before he turned around to sit back down he turned his head and there he was walking in the bait the giant of a lifetime, he got a glimps of what he though was the sow to the side she spooked and took off on the dead run, and he turned and looked towards the stand and in two jumps he disappeared he was sick. He kept saying last night if would of just waited a few more minutes it could of been the closeing deal. He has been on 10 bear hunts I think he said, he has never seen a bear close to the size of what he seen last night, that's how fast it happens I feel for the guy. We are back at it today looking for two more bear, both the boys seen four bear each last night pretty desent for a rainy night.
Bummer. Sometimes they are so quiet coming in, you never hear or see them until they are right on top of you, especially in dense bush/brush. And to add the sound of light rainfall...
I hope he's able to redeem himself tonight!
Yes Chuck I hope he does, its a bummer missing an opportunity like that it would make anyone sick. I told him last night at least u got to see him I don't think it brought much comfort.
Those are a couple smoker bears Alexis! Congrats to your hunters and to you! Hopefully you have some more skinning business tonight and your hunter redeems himself. Best of luck!
Awesome bears! Congrats to you all!
Thats a couple of giants for the Boys! Congrats guys, nice bears! wish I was still there! Took my beautiful Cinnamon to the Taxidermist, he was fleshing at the hide and called me to say, :"what a great bear" Thanks agin Alexis' can't wait to come back
Thanks guys, this is Joann with her nice chocolate bear from the other day nice chocolate she is the only lady hunter we ever had, she fit right in with the rest of the guys
The boys are up in the stand its getting close to crunch time two nights to hunt. Hoping to skin at least one tonight.
Redundant I know as each year you have a ton of colors but sure seems like more colors this year. Great picts Alexis. Sure appreciate you posting. Really enjoying your thread.
There was a few for sure Chuck its nice for the hunters to see a few colors, we are blessed no doubt. The boys are still AT IT THEY PASSED ON THE BEARS LAST NIGHT one guy seen 5 and Grape seen 8 and a shooter 300 plus he says, he had the cross hairs on him but didn't pull the trigger it was close he said, I think his hearths set on a giant. I don't know anyone else that would pass on a 300 plus bear. The last night for the boys hoping for a good outcome and a safe one. u all have a great day
Well one more bear didn't make her at the Desjardins camp nice color shot by Mark, it looks like that's it for the spring hunt we had a great time and good fellowship we are thankful the good Lord kept us all safe on this springs hunt. Grape passed on the bears he will be back in the fall to try her again, We still have a few spots left for the fall hunt come on out and have some fun with the bears. We want to thank everyone that followed. You's all have a great day.
Thanks Alexix, love following your thread!
What a great year. Thanks for taking the time to post all the picts & updates. Far & away my favorite thread each spring. Blessings to you & your family.
Thanks for the reply. It is nice seeing pictures of multiple bear. This really peaks my interest after spending 5 days on stand to see only 1 bear. I will stay in touch.
Thanks again guys for the kind words, on a little holiday with the wife getting rested up. Was looking back at the bears the gang shot this spring, there is quite a few that will make 18 inches plus and there is a couple that might make it over 21 inches we will wait for the official score, we are happy the boys and gal connected on some very respectable bears this spring. 19 dead bear, 2 guys passed , 16 boars and three dry sows and not one lost that's performance my hats off to our hunters good job everyone that's what we like to see. Have the best day and have a great summer all.
Congrats on a great year! Rod and I got our rugs and skulls yesterday! Brad did a great job! I measured my skull and I get 19 4/8s. Going to measure Rods sometime this week.
Congrats on a great year!! Enjoyed the thread!!
Wow, that's an amazing year. The big bears are one thing but not losing one has GOT to make an outfitter feel really good.
Congrats to your hunters but congrats to you as well Alexis for providing great hunts for your guys and gals. Great thread. Again, my favorite thread each spring and thanks for taking the time to post. Have a great summer!
Your bear Bruce had a big head nice, I am glad u got them back Rodney sent me a pic of his looking good. Thanks again guys, I'd give most of the credit to the hunters for making there shot count, I just feed the bears and get them set up. They do the hard part making it happen with all the adrenaline and making the kill.
I sent you a late pm Alexis. I apologize about the delay.
