Iowa Deer

I have NR points to draw a tag in Iowa this year. I have just been gathering enough of points and just starting to do a little research. Any help on what part of the state to look at. Leads on and Trespass fees available on private property and even what season to concentrate on would be greatly appreciated.

I'd check IDNR web page on harvest numbers. It'll tell you where the numbers are. I assume you're talking gun since you inquire about which season. First shotgun involves one weekend, second shotgun involves two weekends.

Not looking for a gun hunt. Numbers will all where biggest kills are but lots of areas may not have large kills but less pressure and better quality.

Lots of public land, they have great maps on their site showing it.
