So I have been saving up to build a new AR, 300 blackout to be exact. However I have a friend at work who has hit hard times and is selling his Carbon Matrix with all the bells and whistles. The bow has maybe 50 shots through it and he is selling it for $1000 but said he'd sell it to me for $850. So now I am looking at spending the AR money on a new bow lol. I'm curious what some of you who have owned this bow think of it. From what I've researched $850 is a steal on this bow, especially with all that comes with it.

Bow comes with:

12 CE Maxima Red Arrows, B Stinger Stabilizer, Block Target, AXT Titanium Recon Rest, AX Driver 1 pin sight, and a few other small things.

Just curious on some opinions and thoughts.

Thanks!

If that bow has RKT cams on it i'd say its worth about $550 or so. If you think all of the accessories are worth $300 you probably have a pretty good deal. The Matrix is a great bow.

I had a couple carbon matrix bows and really liked them! Hoyt makes a stellar bow! Carbon Hoyts are just awesome

It is a great shooting bow, but it is several years old now. The price is decent, but it is far from a smoking deal even with the accessories.

Saw a 2010 blackout on AT for $450 bare and $650 with accessories.

Fantastic bow. Price not so much. I would spend that cash only if you really really want to help your friend and just how good of a friend is he? If it were me, which it isn't, I would build the AR. Who knows if you will even be able to do that in the future but you can always get a bow.

Price is kinda high, I would think it should be right around 600 -650 at the most.

One of the best Hoyt's ever made. You NEVER pay for accessories unless their exactly what you would choose for yourself. That grip is HORRIBLE for accuracy. I would say the deal is fine at $500-$550 for the bow bare. If you love every single thing on it, you could add $150, but that's it.

Sounds like I'm best with just keeping my Guardian and just building the blackout. I was wanting to help him out and get a good deal for myself but it sounds a little high on his end of things.

What's it worth to you? $850 or an AR (that will hold its value). I get it your wanting to help a friend, but your wanting the rifle on your own, the bow because someone is wanting to sell. Unless you want those accessories, it's only worth the bare bow price.

I LOVE my Hoyt Carbon Matrix! My favorite bow I've ever owned.

I always have interest in getting a new bow if the price is right but I have no issues with my Bowtech and have killed numerous deer with it. The 300 blackout is a project I've been wanting to get into just for the fun part of subsonic rounds and suppressors. The accessories aren't anything too special to me and as a matter of fact I'm not a fan of single pin sights while hunting. I've never used them before but I don't like the thought of having to move my sight around while I have an animal coming into my shooting lanes.

I sold a 2014 model with all the bells and whistles for 600 and I shipped it so 550. Mine had brand new cable and strings as well as the Hoyt strings suck. I would think 550 to 600 may be fair. Shawn

Price too high for current market.

Killer bow and exactly what I use (although I bought mine used for $650 3-years ago. Another friend picked used one up a year ago for $550. Another friend picked used one up last week $400.
