Fly out tomorrow for my Roe deer hunt. Any last advice?
Have a great time, really looking forward to your trip/hunt...
Hunt hard then eat well, drink well and take in everything you can.
If you get near Montpellier, take a few minutes to check out a practice of the Montpellier-Herault Rugby team, my old club.
Avoid the tourist traps and give it your best shot speaking French and you'll find the French to be very hospitable.
Post up pictures when you get back. I'm jealous. I didn't get to hunt while I was there.
stay out of check in area of the airport.
Watch out for them damn "jihadi's".
Good luck Forest! Kill a beauty!
My only advice is that the bidet is not a water fountain.
Enjoy it and have a blast!
Avoid ordering meat "rare as a French war hero." Good luck, have fun.
Sounds like a cool trip! Good Luck!
Good luck and heed Brotsky's advice!
Yes in and out of the air port!!!! The rut is on from what I'm told. I'll post as much as I can. Looking forward to spending some time at Omaha Beach as we will be very close to there.
1 don't hang out at the airport 2 have fun 3 don't let wife wear her infidel shirt 4 don't drink out of the short water fountain 5 don't say anything Rob Nye would say
Anything eles?
Have some crème broule' for me
Kill a big one or two.
How many are you allowed to kill?
I think just one and some pigs.
Just got to Paris. We are very close to Normandy where we will be hunting
Have fun and don't forget to post pictures and a story.
Service is week here. I'm in a tree stand now and have a little bit. This place is amazing. Went stalking last night a had a great buck at 32 yards. I was not prepared and the jet lag and the 2 hours of sleep in 24 hours worked is his favor. We got great video. I'm confident I'll get a shot opportunity. Have seen 20 deer 4-5 shooters.
If you're up North visiting Normandy, put Mont St. Michel on your list. It may be crowded this time of year though.
Post pics of your hunt when you can, please.
Good luck and good hunting
Remind those snooty Patisians how we pulled their fat outa the fire...twice.
Those Normandy folks always remember...a buddy went there, and when the locals discovered his dad hit Utah beach on D-Day he was treated like royalty.

And they help us get started to become a country before we were one back in the day.
The Frenchies are ok. I crack the "French War" jokes too but if you read history, the actual fighting men on the ground fought like animals. There are some incredible stories.
Good Luck and keep us posted!
Best of luck! Look forward to the report.
Lots of deer! I have passed a few. I feel with the numbers I can be picky for a few days. Everything is perfect except the service!
Dang Forest, I just left Paris!!!! I wish I saw this when I was there, would have met up with you and/or extended my time there and went hunting with you. Good luck.
Huntcell...the French were good fighters in BOTH world wars. WWI was probably the most viscous ground war ever fought...an entire generation slaughtered.
And yes, from revolutionary times we owe a huge debt of gratitude...without a doubt.
The recent terrorist attacks in France have bonded us even more today.
However...I'm sticken' to my guns in regard to "those snooty parisians"...just experience.
Anyway...have a great trip...I was unaware any European hunting was even available.
In the ridge tree stand again with service. Have seen so much action in 2 days. Time to kill one!
Just watched a spike penetrate a doe 3 times at 40 yards. These little suckers are hot!
Great stuff Forest, good luck...You better have the camera going!
That's one well hung spike to do that at 40 yards!
Hunt one of their insanely huge Wild Boars
Wow, those French deer! lol
Bonne chance et bonne chasse!
BTW - cool village in Normandy is Honfleur. I'm not sure if he is still working (it's been 9 years) but there used to be an artist there who specialized in painting wildlife. I tend to be pretty critical of wildlife art, but he does excellent work. Worth a visit even if you don't buy anything. His name is Guy Sangleboeuf.
Was all fired up for this hunt and was watching some of the 'bow' hunts for Roebuck on YouTube...Really surprised by the number of European countries that did not allow you to 'bow' hunt...
How about some pics from the stands? Or of the terrain?
Good luck!
I bet he's already got one. It seems to be the norm here that hunters doing these kinds of threads get lock jaw when something hits the ground.
If I'm wrong, good luck getting one. God Bless men
The king has one less deer tonight.
Nice buck Forrest! Well done and congratulations.
On of the most emotional hunts I can remember! God is good!

No Matt just a nice shoulder mount slightly turned to the right like he was when I shot him......at 7 yards. ??
How did you book this hunt? BSC?
Forest: What can you bring back with you? Just the horns?
I am heading next month to London for work and may run up to Scotland for a couple days for Red Stag and Salmon.
Had no idea how cheap (compared to US elk hunts) they are.
Thanks for any info!
BTW Congrats on a fine trip!
I will have it mounted and shipped home. We just ate the back straps BBQ. Soooo good.
That's awesome Forest, congrats!
Look at the date on the mantle.
A hunting blessing carved in the tree above my guide.
No bowhunting here in the UK alas, but plenty decent rifle hunts available
Good bowhunting for roe in Denmark; who did you book your French bowhunt through Forest Bows?
My wife came with and had a great time.
