DIY, Public land like 95% of my 60 years of bowhunting. I started organized archery in 1956 & bowhunted Illinois 1st EVER Deer season in 1957 & killed my 1st Deer in 1958. I have uaed a few outfitters but was required by law (Canada Bear & Caribou). Drop camp Elk twice in my younger years. This will be my camp.

73. Burned 5 points as it's my last (I think) speed Goat hunt. Normally I don't shoot Does but I did get A Buck & lucky draw Doe tag. IF a Doe presents a decent Longbow shot, that's what I'm going to use for a Doe.. Buck, ehhh, compound more than likely.. This was my set up 1st time I went in 2010 at age 68 . I only had 3 days to hunt & missed a Buck at 35 & killed a Doe at 20. 2nd time, missed a Buck that spooked as I released & then it rained & rained & I headed home after 4 days. THIS time I have NO time limit. I told the wife I'm going until I fill both tags or the season ends. Guess how that WENT OVER. I have a taller blind this time (learned a lesson).

2 shots at 30 yds with Broadheads tonight. Tweek 40 tomorrow, what I feel will be my longest out of a blind. 20 is Dead on. My poor target, I know. Hey it works & has for years..

My last 4 tonight with BHs at 40, it's hell to get old.. Best I could do fellas. I'm outa here in the AM. Anyone else going after Speed Goats I say be safe, have fun & ENJOY. As I say, Kills will be forgotten but memories of campfire friends will last forever.

My buddies just texed & said hunting was extremely tough, These guys are all veterans (with Antelope hunting too) & super shooters. STILL, they managed 2 Buck & 3 Does.
