It's that time of year again. The quest for stud bull begins in the morning. Here it's 1110 pm and myself and guides just finished getting g all gear and the game plan together for the 3am wake up call. We have 5 clients ready to fill the tag it's taken years to draw. Scouting has shown the bulls are pretty quiet and shutting down early. But with that said we have plenty of 350 and better bulls located, so far the best being in the mid 380's. Stay tuned and I'll fill you in on the hunts progress.

Client 1 The mornings hunt began with all of us heading to different locations. Myself and client began checking bulls 20 minutes after gray light. After 4 miles of following we finally got a look at three of the bulls best being 300 ish. With 3 other bulls still crushing through the timber. We never even came close to getting a glimpse of what we were hoping woukd be giants. Round trip was 8 Miles. Client 2 had basically the same results one getting as close as 80 yards but not being able to get a look at what they were pursuing. Client 3 got into the middle of 70 or more elk 360 bull being the best, just could never catch a break. Client 4,5 no report yet

We have been tareting whales for the past three days. We have had 8 encounters the past three days with two missed shots. I'm figuring him at 355". He's weak on his 5th's he's basically a giant 5x5. Wish I have a comouter and I could give you the details, it pretty tuff with the phone

Got on whales again this morning. 45 yard shot and the arrowner deflected off a tiny limb and grained his belly. He's definitely hit. We backed out and will return in the morning.

No not this evening. We have to wait for morning. I saw exactly where he's hit and it's going to take some time for him to expire

Sorry to hear that Steven! But no doubt you are doing the right thing. Loss of meat depends on how long it takes him to die. With a gut shot, he could last 24 hours even. Hope you find him!

After chasing bulls for 10 days with archery hunters it was my turn, but this time there would be no chasing. We located this bull and patterned him for 4 days. The plan came together quick as spotter Delbert advised us they were headed east in meadow #2. Joe and I made quick work through the cedars into range. With a quick set up at 270 yards seconds later he was down. Thanks to D&E Custom Rifles Danny Regnier and Christensen arms for the great rifle setup. Thanks to my family Crystal Ward and kids for being so patience while I'm away. Most importantly that you Jesus Christ for all your graces.
