I'm looking to book my first archery elk hunt; gift to myself for my 45th birthday. I live and hunt hard in Colorado and I don't want to give up on the last two weeks of the Colorado season, rather I'm looking to hunt a new state and ideally after our September season. So, the question I pose to the Bowsite nation is where would you suggest I focus my search and is there a good elk archery season after 9/25/17. PS, I'm looking for a 350 caliber bull. thanks and looking forward to hearing from you guys

Montana Hunt & Fish CO is your best bet. I am assuming you are willing to drop cash.
They are 100% SUCCESS for many years with archery with average bulls 300-320 and great chance at 350+ bulls.
A few guys have gone with them in here - I went with rifle and had a blast. You can also hunt deer and antelope if you are lucky. They have several places to hunt you will want Willow Creek - that's their premier place.

Disclaimer I started a similar thread "once in a lifetime" a while back and ended up holding off to save up some more $ and give myself time to make a good decision

My recommendation is if you are serious about a trophy class bull and are willing to pay what it takes to get on land that has a realistic chance of scoring one of those (definitely north of $5k), book it for pre- and peak rut. IMO that would not be after 9/25.

@williamtell yea, you are probably right. I'm trying to have my cake and eat it too. I see Montana's archery season goes to about 10/16 so I was going to focus on the week after our CO season closes.
I'm going to start looking into landowner tags as well as drop camps. anyone use Medicine Lake outfitters?
