I'm finally getting down to sharing the photos of our elk hunts this year. These elk are all OTC DIY Public land elk. We had a ton of fun & seemed to be packing meat somewhere throughout the month! We took 5 bulls in the Crew & assisted on 3 others that are close friends to us. Too, my grandsons 1st deer at 10 years old, cool! (grin) It was a great year & am fortunate to have such good friends!
My son started the year off with this bull early on that was called to 22 yards or so!

You're still getting it done, nice photo series!!! I was looking at my ELK calls and I have three of yours- need to warm them up.
I read that disabled vets can get the resident tag rates rather than paying non res $$ . Idaho has move waaay up on this old guy's wish list. W WA ELK gave me the slip again this year.
Greg, thanks! That's a great deal to be able to get an elk tag at resident cost, I'd do it! (grin) Still plenty of elk around for mostly an OTC state. Let me know if you are considering our neck of the woods & I'll see what I can do!

Jeff, saw a couple great bulls you guys took this year too, congrats! I'm sure others here did well too, tough to keep up sometimes!
Chad, thanks, yes this group of guys kick butt every year, we have each others back & will do whatever we can to help one another. This group is like family!
Interesting note is all bulls were taken before noon, we do our best to catch them in feeding areas or close to them, in some cases they are in transition & a couple were already in bedding areas. Hunting dark timber makes it a challenge as we generally hear them but cannot see them until it's time for an arrow to fly! (grin) Gotta love OTC DIY! Thanks again everyone!
