UTAH- Elk Manti Unit Question

Has anyone here done the late rifle in Manti? I hear it's a great hunt for big bulls. I have 12 pts going into this draw and still too far away from the archery units I want. Keeps getting harder to draw them

I don't know much about Utah and don't keep up with stats very well as I only have three points. Couldn't you draw the sw desert archery on that amount of points?

Ohh. I guess it's been a few years since I looked at draw odds. :) I got into all these draw states about 15 years too late!

Late hunts can be good, but are usually very tough. You would need to know winter range very well and have means to access it if weather is bad. A lot of time glassing. A rut hunt is way more fun!

The archery odds might get slightly better this year. Not sure what units your looking at but a lot of archers with high points went after the a tag last year due to the better than normal dates. Good luck.
This is my last year on the waiting list. Can't wait to get back into the only legal gambling allowed in Utah.

Drew the Wasatch muzzy hunt in 2011 because I was behind on points but back in the random game again this year.

Hunted it last year. Bulls will be up "high" as in above Schofield Reservoir type stuff unless mass amounts of snow drive them down. I will PM you some other info.

Very nice Al! Archery bull I'm sure? Did you experience Crazy pressure? I heard that the spike hunters can be an issue in that unit?
