Can it be a wheel bow?

I used to shoot my Hoyt Ultratec (circa 2003) 38" A-A as a finger bow and loved it. Have since switched to release, but it's still my go-to backup bow. The Cam & 1/2 was a smooth drawing cam and I had no troubles using it as finger bow. My draw was the longest cam, though. I used the XT2000 limbs, but there was a longer A-A version (XT3000?)
Definitely one model to keep an eye out for.

Yes WoodsWalker, it can. My arthrits in my pull hand is getting bad, and am going to have to give up my recurve, for a while. I know i can use a compound, and i want to shoot instinctive.

Look up Moxie bows, think it's a new company, don't remember all there axle to axle measurements, but know they had some longer than what you usually see

Bentstick -
Did you see my Bowtech on the Swap & Trade thread?
I've shot it with fingers just a few times... at 85% let-off, it's a little tricky to get a clean release... but then I've only tried it a couple of times. Anyway, lemmeknow...

Hello Bentstick81 : Check Ebay. I would look for the PSE Nova line. They were good bows for your purpose and as common as dirt. Another good is the Reflex Bighorn intruder. Be careful on the Bighorn line as some had short limbs. The intruder was 40"ATA. I have a long draw length and have an intruder that adjusts from 29" to 32". I think the other version was 26 to 29" they were advertised 50-60 0r 60-70. The 60-70 could easily adjust down to 55# so the 50-60 should be ideal for you.

I have a bowtech constitution I don't shoot anymore that I would sell to you pretty cheap, but it has 70 pound limbs and aggressive cams so I don't think it is what you are looking for.

I have a Jennings Carbon XLRS with a 43" axle to axle that I shot with fingers for years that you can have. It has a bit of experience killing stuff!

Here is what I have, but I am not selling. I love it.
Hoyt Vantage XT 3000 limbs. Originally had E Wheels but former owner changed to Cam 1/2. (And limbs were changed) 70% LO. Smooth drawing. Good wall but won't rip from fingers if you creep 1/8". 60 LB limbs.

Darton should have what your looking for. Go to Darton Facebook page. Several "good" used ones there for great prices. I've been a Darton shooter 40+ years now.. Just got me a new Maverick.

I've got a Hoyt Vantage Hunter circa 1990 for the price of shipping to its new home. I last hunted with it in 2006. It's a very easy bow to shoot with a tab/fingers.

oddly enough, im putting a new 60x string on my 60 pound 28 inch Mathews Ovation today, in order to sell it. Its 39.5 inches ata and is outstanding for finger shooting. Its an 04 buts its been hanging on a hook since an 05 Az elk hunt I used it for. I was going to list it locally for 200. Let me know if your interested

I second Moxie Archery. They used to be Strothers Archery when the two split up from starting Elite.

Mathews Conquest any of them. I shot one with fingers for years. Older ones can be had for under 300 on fleabay. Scooby

Ovation or Conquest too.
I strongly advise trying bows with maximum brace height, you will find that does a lot for you.

Thanks for the replys. The only thing is, i need the bow weight 40#-50#. That is the problem i have been running into. Just not many around in that draw weight, with a 28" draw.

hmm... that should not be a problem with a target bow? I could be wrong, but I thought those guys usually shot lighter bows. I had one ovation in 50 and another in 60. both were crazy target colors though, lol!

bow shot, I've seen a few in that range, with those crazy colors. I want to hunt with it, so i just can't bring myself to spray paint it.

Bentstick81, the colors due not matter for hunting. I killed a few of my best bucks with a bow with an electric purple riser and white limbs. Deer did not care what color the bow was. There are several on fleabay now and a couple with lighter limbs. Scooby

Benstick my Darton is 65# sorry. If you would like I will e-mail Darton and see if we can back off the limbs and or change cams to suit your needs. The bow is smooth and forgiving. PM me
