I shot a sow in ME in Oct. No room for a rug, thinking half mount with a bull moose skull under foot. What have you done with your bears? Thanks Brian

This was a friend's bear. Hard to tell from photo, but it's sort of a wall pedestal and doesn't even have the full front legs or paws. One of the neatest half bears I'd ever seen. To me a half mount just popping out of the wall appears odd, and this one gave the illusion of continuing with it's softened edges

I got this one so it fits into a corner wall.

I helped to design mine. The pedestal has wheels so it is easy to move and the top portion lifts off so I can place it on a table.

One thing I have noticed is bear mounts take horrible pictures you almost have to personally see a taxidermist work in order to get a good idea how his work looks. Here is a different angle of mine almost every angle has a different look.

Thanks guys.
JH, I like that, I hadn't thought of a corner mount. Mine also has a white V on her chest. I already decided to go with a closed mouth.

Even though I have a 1/2 LS black Bear mount, I wish I had gone with a Shoulder Pedestal instead

its really hard to take a good pic of a bear mount, I'm guessing same reason why their hard to shoot - sooo black

1/2 body mount. Doesn't require a lot of space. In a corner in the living room.

Back to the top for any more pics. My bear is finally being done and I'm really liking JH's bear above. Closed mouth, one paw up, quartering right or left (?). Moose skull will go under the lifted paw, but not sure if any other 'base' will be added...or needed.

I'm going to admit guys this isn't my bear and i'm only posting it because I think its one of the better bear mounts I've see with the open mouth. I'll be sending mine to him if i'm fortunate enough.

grape How are you hanging your hides? I have hung them on a nail, but the nose skin, but have had many tear off over time. Tried using a wire but the hide tears as well. Do you have a better method?

Grape, do you like bear hunting or what? If I ever get another, that will be my only option, wife says this mount will be my last unless I get rid of something. Funny, I've had lots of furs tanned and never even thought of doing a bear. Thanks.
