Great job you guys did. Should be interesting to see how many people you have next year now that they know about it.
For logistics, safety, on-site support issues, as well as the remoteness of the course we were hoping to use this year until the snow levels got ridiculous, for 2018 we will limit entries to the first fifty people who sign up. The sixteen who raced this year will be grandfathered in as a way of thanking them for helping us get started.
We were very late in announcing the race this year, hence the small turnout, but once people learned of it when they got to Reno, the response was amazing. I had people coming up to me at the Wednesday night banquet saying they'd just learned of it and wanted to participate next year. The same thing happened after the race.
If we can handle fifty racers without any issues, I see no reason we wouldn't raise the number of entrants we will take the following year.
Dr. DiGrazio, who generously put up the cash prizes, was thrilled with what he'd heard about the event and wants to put up the same cash prize money again. I had two outfitters approach me after the race and they want to be major sponsors in the future.
Very cool!
Now that we have the template, the race will be announced and promoted in the regular convention registration mailings WSF does in the fall,
That's Anna Vorisek.
If there was a Hall of Fame for bow hunters, Anna would likely be the first woman admitted. Her bow hunting achievements are incredible. In addition, she's one of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet.
Thanks for sharing Kyle
Good luck, Robb

The course we wanted to do is a loop of 6.2 miles with 1,000' of gain and loss. It tops out at 7,000' and is mostly in tall timber.
No. Registration will start next fall when 2018 Sheep Show registration opens.
Glad you're interested. Everyone had a blast!
Bring your own backpack and I'd highly recommend trekking poles as well.
Can I just do the part where you run down hill?
We provided sand bags for the entrants so they'd have enough weight.
