I start my hunt for cougar, lynx, and wolf tomorrow. My bother and his girlfriend will be hunting for lynx. They will be hunting with a rifle and I will be hunting with a bow. The wolf will be with a rifle if it happens.
I will try to update this post daily if time and internet allows.
Come along for the ride.
Have a great time! Good Luck and be Safe!!! Can't wait to hear about it!
God Bless,
Scar.
The owner of Skinner Creek, Doug donates Wounded Warrior hunts every year. Thanks for supporting his business and based on other guys results you are in for a great hunt! Good luck! C
Look forward to hearing about your adventure good luck.
Great people and great hunt! Good luck!
Half of the challenge is always getting to your destination. There are high winds going into Vancouver. Delta is currently looking for 20 volunteers to take another flight. They might make another stop in Seattle to get more fuel.
In any event, it doesn't look like they are going to take our bags.
I have diamond status on Delta and can usually work through these situations. The issue is one of safety as this plane cannot carry enough fuel with a full load due to the head winds.
It is crazy but better to be safe in the long run.
I will likely miss my connection to Williams Lake.
The joys of travel....
Good luck. Lots of lynx in that area. I shot a lynx in BC in 2013 and missed a yote. Didn't see any wolves, but was hoping I would get a shot at one.
Good luck to all of you and stay safe!
I finally received all of my bags and will be flying out in a few hours. I lost a day but we have fresh snow. I will start hunting tomorrow.
I got into the lodge at 2:30 this afternoon. I quickly threw my stuff together and we headed out about 3pm. We found a fresh set of tracks at 3:25 and released the dogs. The dogs treed a small female by 4pm. We took some photos and headed back for dinner. Spaghetti for dinner with a mint cheesecake dessert.
Life is great.
Unfortunately, my photos are not.
Good luck and keep it coming Eric!
Rock and Roll Eric!
Good Luck!
Scar.
Awesome start to the hunt! Love an early morning with some fresh snow and looking for tracks!!
Go get one. That happened fast. Good sign.
We got up and going around 6 this morning. We had a dusting of fresh snow last evening. The conditions were great.
The country is simply beautiful.
We dogs were incredible. We turned them out mid-morning and the chase was on. I believe the dogs covered somewhere around 6-8 miles before they treed the cat.
I ended up with an 8 yard shot without any branches in the way. The 2" Deadhead hit its mark. The cat jumped up after being hit to another branch and fell out of the tree dead in less than 15 seconds.
My hunt was over.

That's a nice cat, congratulations!
Doug, Eric, and Tigger skinned my cat before dinner. Doug has a litter of young pups that worked my cat over a bit as training. Dinner was great again. Deer steaks, salad, potatos, and dessert.
Tomorrow we are after lynx.
Life is great.
Wow. Congrats, that thing looks like a monster..... great pics.
I guess that'sthe way it goes on these hunts. Feast or famine. Looks like a feast to me.... great job by all... and thanks for takin' us all along. Gotta get one of those someday......
Well Done!
Congrats
Good luck, Robb
This is one of those hunts almost everyone should do. Congratulations.
Congrats on a successful hunt.
Congrats Eric!! Helluva cat!
congrats on an awesome looking cat
Congrats, a lynx chase sure can be a pile of fun. They are smart/sneaky cats so the chase itself can be a ton of fun!
Congratulations to you and Doug! The Skinner Creek team is amazing, both people and hounds!
Congrats on your hunt so far! Good luck on the second leg.
Cats are special to hunt. Nice story. Congrats. Paul
Great cat! Congratulations!
We had another busy day. Before I get started, I want to share another picture of yesterday's hunt as the dogs did not get enough attention and they really do all of the work.

I am hunting with Eric Muff and his dogs, JR, Trixie, and Tendi. My brother, Tigger and his girlfriend Bonita are hunting with Doug and his hounds.
We had another busy day. I believe we dumped the dogs 4 or 5 times in total.
Trixie, Tendi, and JR worked one lynx for approximately 12 kilometers.
Doug's pack out in a bunch of miles as well. They treed this lynx towards the end of the day. Doug believe's we will get a larger one in the next day or two.

Another great day. After an 8-10 mile chase, Tigger was able to take this 22 pound lynx.

Today was another great day. We started with a beautiful sunrise. We saw seven wild horses this morning. The dogs put in over 10 miles on one chase but the lynx managed to out smart us.
We quickly were on another chase and this one ended in under an hour and a couple of miles at the most.
I was able to take this 25 pound Tom with a .22 caliber rifle. The lynx did not present any clear shot. It was an easy 15 yard shot about 20 yards up the tree but it was impossible to put an arrow in there without it deflecting off a branch. I did not want to take an unethical shot that could have ended up badly.
In any event, it was a great hunt and I would recommend Doug, Julie, and the team at Skinner Creek highly.
I saw a lynx beside the road last night. We also saw moose and mule deer during the trip.
that is a great lynx .......smile man you did it
How about you show us your smiling face with last years cat, Bou?
It was great hunting with you all, lots of laughs and exercise. I am glad we filled your tags and had a great time doing it.
Hey Bou' - At least this guy did it legally! Where's your pic?
That's a big man holding a big cat!! Awesome!

Worth a watch, amazing what a well placed bow shot will do.
