As Iam preparing for an upcoming archery hunt . Iam wondering how yall pack you bows while packing in on horseback.

I've used a bow scabbard and also strapped it to a backpack and worn the backpack while riding in.

I modified a Kuiu sling. Long rides, bow was strapped to pack. Bushy areas, on a sling.

Russell,
What is the cost of the Kuiu sling? Looks very similar to a Primos.

$30 retail per their website.

I use a Cabelas' sling. It's easier to use and has more padding than the Primos one.

Primos will be fine.

one item you might consider besides a covered bow sling that protects your cams and strings, is a sight pin cover that protects your sight from brush that might tear off a pin or two. There are a couple that are made but a heavy duty sock slipped over the bow sight, would work also. An easy attachment that might save the trip.

The new Cabelas sling that came out last year is pretty awesome. The reinforced rubberized padded ends are an excellent addition.
I used to horse pack a lot with my own stock. I have a custom scabbard and a couple different slings. Prefer a sling because you can maneuver it around when needed. Scabbards are handy but if you have a horse that occasionally likes to lean into a tree after dismount or rub against something, it can ruin a hunt.
Wish I had the latest Cabelas padded sling back then...

Deluxe is the one I'm using now. It's worth a couple extra bucks.

pictured is the Cabelas' sling. Protects the bow but not the bow sight.

For horseback, a scabbard is the best way to go IMO.

Anyone know if the new cabelas delux or kuiu will fit the halon 32? The older cabelas doesn't nor does the tarantula

Kuiu lists 30-34 axel to axel which probably throws it out for halon 32.
Still curious if anyone has tried it on this bow?

The Cabelas fits my Bowtech 32 ATA just fine. It's stretchy enough that it will fit a variety of bows.

Always a plain rope(rock climbing type) with a slip knot release in my hand. Used the others but like the ease of just a rope

Hey Cory, new reversible pants. One side Mt. Pants and then you can turn them inside out and they are Timberline Pants. Or is it the other way around? So confusing some times as you know :) :)

Just FYI. Picked up the cabelas delux sling today. It fits the halon 32 perfectly. The bow Is actually 37" including cams on each end.
