I plan on returning this year to hunt Manitoba (Ochre River area) and I'm wondering how your winter has gone? I understand there were some really bad ones a few years ago that killed off a large portion of the herd. I hunted 4 days there last year and only saw maybe a dozen deer. Thanks for your responses.

Winter has been good I'd say! Had some weird melts and freezes but overall as far as damage is concerned I wouldn't think the winter was any worse than average. Of course that's a big generalization. Manitoba is twice the size of Germany.
Deer hunting is still a very far cry of what it once was but I feel like we're in the beginning of the "rebuild" stage
