For all of you that own on of these units (regardless of size). I just ordered mine and I see that it does not come with the seams waterproofed. Does the waterproofer come with the unit? How difficult to apply? How often do you water proof?

Yeah, it comes with a tube of silicone, you will need to purchase some mineral spirits and 1/4" paint brushes. I don't remember the mixture ratio between mineral spirits and silicone, but they send instructions and have a pretty good video on their website.

You use the included silicone, mix with paint thinner to the "consistency of a slurry", and "paint" it on. It is important to make sure that it is set up taut, but otherwise it is no big deal. Let it dry before taking it down for storage.

If I remember right I have seam sealed my tipi once in the last five years.

Good advice above. I will add one more thing. Leave a couple empty beer cans laying outside the tipi after finishing the work. That way you'll have an excuse for the inevitable siligob that messes up your otherwise perfect job. Have fun with your new tipi!
