KUIU Verde 2.0 - why?

Was going to add a few pièces of KUIU gear to my limited collection, but the new Verde is now Verde 2.0 and is much paler (seems that way anyway) than the old Verde.
Ok - anyone knows why it was changed? Just curious - must have been a reason, and feedback on new color appreciated. ps. I agree that change don't matter to animals, but since we hunters are so fashion-minded - can one still wear Verde pants with Verde 2.0 Jackets or is that a fashion faux-pas?
You're gonna have to go all 2.0 or nothing. I suggest turning over all of your old Verde stock to me for proper disposal.
Why has it changed? TO SELL MORE.
I'm a little pissed about it. My victory 37 is in Verde and my jacket is now verde 2.0. Not even sure if I can go hunting this fall.... honestly though I like the bit of gray added. Though side by side there is not much difference. Verde 2.0 is a bit darker in some fabrics.
Gee, I wish all retailers gave us fewer options instead of more. I mean, really ... seems kind of greedy to offer something that people have to pay money for.
(Don't all retailers offer minor changes to bring in customers that didn't purchase something with their first or second offerings? To be honest, I think retailers would be stupid not to. People act as though retailers somehow HYPNOTIZE customers. Take a little credit for your decisions.)
Caribou, they actually added black, the gray was already in the pattern. I really like 2.0. I did not own a single piece of original Verde but I bought a few pieces in 2.0 that I like a lot for specific applications that I will use it for. Early season elk and spring turkey season specifically when there's more green around and it should work a little better than my vias.
To look more like the new Sitka Subalpine ;-)
Actually the Verde 2.0 intro predates the Sub-Alpine by many months. Garments in 2.0 have been available since last fall. You don't need all 2.0 to replace your original Verde. Just buy a couple outer garments in 2.0 and use it to cover up all that old outdated and obsolete stuff. You'll look cool and save lots.
I actually went hunting in a solid color and killed something last year. Don't know how it happened. Seriously it's about the fabrics in my opinion.
The 2.0 has a larger patches of color, creating higher contrast and what I imagine is better breakup. Especially at longer distances. Looks sharp.
I do wish they could get a handle on the color differences between garments. My kenai jacket in verde is different than my attack pants. And even between attack pants, different colors. Vias is the same way.
Ohiohunter - package sent - please dispose of that 12-month old camo properly for me. This fall - I'm going naked with just a leaf to cover my you know what. But wait now - oak leaf or maple leaf? in yellow or green? Or just one long pine needle placed properly? decision decision decisions...
Frenchman..... depends whether or not you manscape first ;-)
The obvious answer is yes, if you buy one piece of the new clothing you must buy everything else to match it. I assure you one call to KUIU and they will confirm that for you! I'm not sure how anyone killed anything before MATCHING camo patterns from head to toe were invented.
Brosky, I stand corrected. They did add black. They also made the gray darker and bigger. To me it blends in better with what I will be hunting. Caribou at the end of August in quebec and early season whitetails in Iowa.
I like my original Verde attack pants.
I bought an ultra Merino hoody in verde 2.0 when they had their end of year sale. The 2.0 in the hoody is really dark and I preferred the muted tones of the original Verde.
The new sitka camo patterns look like the designers took a lot of acid. A lot.
I like the old VIAS camo pattern. Glad they have kept some of that around. My favorite color is the Major Brown though
Its like they are over thinking the market.I have seen people dressed in bright colours go hunt animals successfully without any camo.I wear camo to avoid humans, its nothing to do with hunting.
why..............
because contrast is a good thing
the fashion police said there's nothing illegal about looking your best when you step out of the truck on the side of the road, no need to rush into the woods feeling embarrassed and of course posing for selfies while in the stand can be considered sacrilegious when not wearing the latest and most popular camo.
Frenchman, no worries I'll take care of that out dated camo free of charge. I prefer pine cones, they last longer and more durable but a little scratchy. Still haven't figured out how to sit down in them yet.
