Here is a photo recap of my recent trip to Nebraska ! 2400 miles in 5 days and worth every mile! Enjoy ! Hunt
Me and my buddy Brent left Montana on Thursday afternoon ! 925 miles to Meadville Nebraska !
We made it to Stugis South Dakota Thursday night! Had to make a drive thru beer stop I. Wyoming ! Hunt
Friday around noon we make it to our destination ! Meadville Nebraska ! Hunt
Here is where I have to thank Bowsite! This hunt would not have happened with out it! Soon a legend showed !
Wondering if this hunt may go next level? :)
Excellent! Looking forward to hearing how this went down!
Beav had some ideas of a few place to check out! The wind was blowing 25-30 steady with gust to 40! Not ideal turkey conditions! Brent went with Matt and me and Harlin headed a different direction!
I think this was the feeling us out hunt! Didn't take long to see we are cut from the same cloth! Soon we move and spot some birds and move in! 4 of us in the T5 ! 5 longbeards a few jakes and a dozen hens! We call and call. Nothing. Beav goes to check them and soon he is crawling back Fast! I cut hard to them and bam ! Gobble . Gobble! We are set up tight . Soon there is 2 toms run in and karate kick the jake! Brent smacks him and the other jumps on him. I am trying to head shoot him and he will not pick His head up! I miss and Brent backs me up! Double down . 1 hour into the hunt!
We take photos and head to another spot ! Soon we find some more birds! Setup on a farm road ! First call bam gobble! Next call Brent can see him at 40! . Then the Hens fire up and take him Away! 9 hens and the Tom come out at 100 on the road and head away! I lay into them with cuts and purrs and the lead hen a white one turns are way! But the Tom goes quiet and back in the woods. The hens start down the road ! Calling back and forth ! They close to 20 and the Tom pops out o In full strut at 8 yards ! Big mistake
Hunt dawg and the Beav

Double beard stud! We are pumped!
That night it was fried bighead and turkey! With a few Busch lights and some Makers mark! We laugh and tell story till after midnight
430 comes early! We split up. Brent, Zak and Matt head one way! Me and Harlin and lanny another. Typical morning turkey hunt ! But soon Brent tagged out
My kind of group! Very nice.
We find a group of birds and can't get them to work! Beav say try to stalk them when they head over the hill! Ok don't threaten me with a good time! I slid in on the group and the big Tom made the mistake of giving me 2 shot! He want do That again!
Great pictures and obviously a great time.
Matt doing what he does best!

Nice gotta love Nebraska !!
So with turkeys dead we load up the boat and head to the river
Very nice Hunt!! I hope to make it to Nebraska for a late season hunt in May.
Great thread! Congrats :)
Great report and pics so far.
Fried bighead....as in carp?
Awesome. Looks like a great time!
Beav is a good friend and a legit killer! That is why he got Nebraska Bowhunter of the year award for 2015
Excellent pics!!!! Y'all kicked ass!!! Congratulations and thanks for sharing your good time with us!!
Beautiful Birds and great write up.
Drive thru liquor stores are only in Conservative states so we don't see any of those in the Northeast:) Thanks for posting....
What a great time and can't say enough of how much I enjoyed spending time with Hunt and Brent! We went at it hard and I think we killed more turkeys than we got hours of sleep in two nights. I will add some pics to this thread tonight as well.
sticksender, yes he bighead as in carp. Unbelievably good eating and we have become experts on cleaning them!
What a great trip...congrats to all you guys. Thanks for sharing, Hunter! Best of Luck Jeff
Awesome gentlemen! Congrats on the birds and the friendships!
P.S. Nothing finer than a huge slab of prime rib on a paper plate and a plastic cup of whiskey. A local place I frequent has the same fine china and glassware. I wouldn't have it any other way!
After the fishing trip we cleaned the fish and we hit the road west
We hit a blizzard in South Dakota ! On the way home
We get up and head home in a foot of snow! I ask Brent if he wanted to swing by one of my old spot ! Why not
About the four time we stopped to call we here a gobble a long ways off ! Across private . He is hot. So we setup and called him in over a mile across a road to the public on are side ! Bonus
I can't thank Harlin and his buddy Matt enough ! So much fun . Can't wait to return the favor soon! Thanks guys. Hunt
Hard to beat a road trip for turkeys with good people! Nice photos and way to stack them up! Congrats to all of you.
Congrats on a fun trip. Thanks for sharing.
Here are a few pics from my camera. I had to do a little scouting the day before and found this love hungry tom wandering around so made a quick set and he ran in to my setup! I was wishing Hunt was already here.
First few hours of the hunt!
Couple of great bowhunters right here.
Hunt's not smiling over his big tom, he is smiling because he is a converted Busch Light drinker! What a great time and this is what I love about Bowsite. New friendships definitely made!
Thanks for sharing the good times! Bowsiters are the best!
Looks like you guys had a great time down here! Glad you got to experience small-town Nebraska. Oh, and kill some birds too!
Awesome thread Hunt! Thanks for sharing the pics and stories! Congrats on some great birds! This is getting me fired up for spring birds!!!
Well, I thought one Nebraska tom was enough but now..................I just might have to go back. Paul
Congrats on a great trip and thanks for sharing. :)
Wasn't surprised to hear you guys found a bird in a blizzard congrats!
That's what I'm talking about!!! Great pics and always getting it done!!! Nice work to all involved!
Sounds like a helluva good time Hunt. Thanks for posting. I'm envious !
Great thread! Congrats on your successes as well as the new friendships. Lots of great people on Bowsite for sure!
I'm officially jealous. Congrats, looks like a great time.
As always awesome! Wish I could have made the trip!
Ya buddy! Love that you stopped on your way back to smack another one. Way to maximize the EFFORT!
Awesome thread guys! Bows, birds, and buds. That's truly what spring is all about! Turkey hunting is made to be a team effort shared with friends old and new. Whether it be sharing time in a blind or on the go, nothing beats making new friends and spending time with old ones while listening to birds gobbling and sending a few arrows down range! Nice work and congrats!
you all had a great trip! Thanks for sharing the story.
Great thread and great job! Thanks for inviting me up, Hunt. Wish things would have worked out to join. Next year. Also glad to know somebody else missed a head shot! :-O
Thanks guys! Bowsite is a great resource take advantage of it when you can! Life is short! Hunt

Hunt awesome pictures and I enjoyed meeting you and Bret. Wish I could have hunted with you guys. Thanks for stopping at the store and glad you enjoyed the Prime Rib. Miller
Hell, I'd go just for the $20 prime rib dinner!
Good times, congrats fellas!
Sounds like a hunt of a lifetime! Congratulations boys! I had a similar hunt many years ago in Kansas.
Awesome! Wish I wasn't so busy calving, I could have at least met you for a beer! Harlin said a good time was had by all.... Great job boys, Kevin
