I shot my decoy......

I know it's embarrassing but any ideas how to fix this thing? I will post a close up of it in a minute. 125 gr Spitfires are hard on decoys.
Lucky it wasn't an Avian X inflatable decoy.
Last years 2 for 1 kill... adds character to the deek
You're just a bit 'back' Mark........ ;)
I'd just throw that Chinese copy cat away and get a Dave Smith :)
Seriously, nice shot Bowfreak! Congrats on the bird!
Just mount em thataway... ha. Congrats on the gobbler!!!
Makes a short tracking job when you anchor 'em to the decoy! Smart tactic. Congrats!
The real question... did your head open up? :)
You got a pass-through with a mech?!?!
Those Chinese guys are pretty handy.
Also....I'm glad I wasn't shooting my Killzones, they would have cut my decoy in half. :)
"You got a pass-through with a mech?!?! " I blew a Rage extreme thru a bird this year. Yuge hole, still haven't found the arrow.
A bullhead would have just bounced off. :-)
Nice work, my friend!
Sidetrack: Does anybody use those string trackers anymore, or were they just a bad idea that went away?
that is some great shooting! Congrats on both birds!
I just missed the head of mine with a Bullhead last week.
Ambush, actually string trackers worked pretty well. I know of several birds that were recovered because of them. One took out all the floss.
My buddy shot a bear with one too, and it got exciting when the string moved while we were tracking him.
I think the wing butt is a bad shot but you can see why it is deadly. Look at the size of that blood vessel.
Been there done that a few times...sometimes you just can't let them "clear"...patched the first one, haven't bothered with the others. The turkeys don't really seem to care!!
I shot my DSD jake in NE last year w/ my recurve. Killed a tom about 20 sec later. After the buzz wore off I looked out and was astonished to see my first "miss" was really a hit! lol
Ambush: "Sidetrack: Does anybody use those string trackers anymore, or were they just a bad idea that went away?"
Yup, but not on modern compound equipment. They work great on trad gear. Trad gear being slower, pulls out the string evenly. Back in the '80's I used one on my compound and the bow was too fast (not today's fast bow either), so the string created drag, dropping arrow about a foot at 20 yards. I killed a nice buck two years ago w/recurve and tracker. Worked great. I'll be using it for both deer and turkeys from now on.
Also easy to find arrow when you miss. Just follow the string.
Unfortunately I didn't get a pass through on the second bird....
Bill: What brand decoy is that in your pic? It looks good and I cannot quite place it. Thanks. JAW
Mark,
Nice bird. That second one will be tough eating. :)
Glue feathers on decoy in place. Hit it enough times and it will be fully feathered! :-) Nice shot!
I use a string tracker for turkeys, it's a great tool.
Congrats on your turkey.

JAW, Its a DSD...One of the older model hard plastic.
