Blind windows

I am building a permanent blind and made windows that slide to the side. My idea was to paint the outside of the windows black - deer have plenty of time to get use to the black holes - that way when I open them it goes from black to black. Good idea?

I'd tint them before painting.....you may regret painting them in January during a windy cold day when you have to have them open all day to see out

Are they actual windows or wooden doors you would slide? Also....keep in mind that sliding doors or windows won't slide as well as you envisioned once dirt and grime is accumulated. A window that folds away might be a better option. The only reason I say this is I know one of the early iterations of BB's antelope blinds had sliding windows and he ditched them because they got mucked up and wouldn't slide well.

I use this method on my antelope box blinds that I build.... As stated above, I started out with sliding windows and have since changed to hinged windows that move up and out of the way towards the blind ceiling. Sliders made too much noise if I had to close one and open another (silhouette reasons)

X3 on the hinged vs the sliders. I have sliders on one blind, and as stated above, they seem to get gummed up and don't slide very well fairly quickly. I like your going from black to black idea. I have another blind with wooden openings that hinge downward that I painted black for that same purpose. I even painted around the openings black to help them blend in more. I bought some 10"x24" tinted hinged windows from Deerview Windows to put in a couple more blinds for this fall. We put some in a buddy's turkey blind this Spring and they seemed to work really well. The tinting helps tremendously to darken things up.

I've not used a permanent blind so have no experience to offer. But I do have a question for those that do. It makes sense that local deer will get used to just about anything given enough time. But what about the wandering bucks that might filter through during the rut? Every year I get trail camera pictures of bucks I've never seen before. And often times they are deer I'd really love a shot at! Won't they react negatively to a blind, especially one with dark windows? I've been considering adding a few permanent blinds to my property so am interested to hear of others thoughts on this.

Windows are wood and I got the idea from BB's blinds! Will have to change to hinged.
Main window is open, this is side windows, again it seems like a no brainer - inside is black so moving window means black on black - seems hardest to see.
