We've seen this bird on our place for 5 years now. "No Beard" was the dominant gobbler; I've seen him fighting many times. He was with 2 10" bearded buddies when I finally got him this week. From all his spur wounds I'm not sure if he would have survived much longer. Very blessed and happy! 20 lbs., 1 5/16" spurs. The new Rage turkey head did awesome!

Congrats John! Satisfying to succeed on an animal you've been after for several years. Did the bird ever grow a beard? Beard rot?

Troy, Never had a beard. There was no sign at all he ever had one when I cleaned him.

That turkey wouldn't be legal in Kansas,Nice bird

Great job! Killing a specific individual is a lot more complicated than just killing any adult animal. He wouldn't be legal in PA either. Our definition is "a bearded bird".

Wow, it is hard to tell which wound is from your broadhead! He was a fighter. Congratulations on a trophy gobbler!!!

CONGRATS!!!!!!! Yep, not legal in Iowa either as they MUST have a beard to be legal. You can shoot a bearded hen legally.

Not CT legal either. But, congrats on the ol' timer.

Congrats. I've had many birds you could label as a "gobbler nemesis" and when you finally fool em, it feels great!

Greg, All of those are spur wounds! I shot him through the wing butt.

In New York I think the beard has to be visible to legally kill....many of the old birds I've killed have great spurs, poor beards, low body weight and get killed the last 3 days of the season.

Damn, I'm surprised an arrow killed that scrapper! I've never seen a gobbler beat up like that. Killed a few turkeys myself just north of Pine Mountain Georgia.
