Here is a thread keeping you up to date with what is happening at Skinner Creek this season. You won't see tons of dead pictures as I personally guide each hunter, but you will see how we do things here in BC. Spot and Stalk and a lot of dog hunting is how we do things around here. Enjoy the pictures of the dogs and bears.

this is Zoey, she was killed by a bear this past week. she was a true warrior for all of her 8 years. She was a lead dog and a true companion to me and the family.

Bob and Chris relaxing with the dogs after a good hike. This boar was heading into no man's land so we called off the chase.

Good first day with some fine folks from Denmark. We had this good boar dead by 9:30 and as a bonus was able to get a four wheeler within 5 yards!!! This was a first black bear for John.

Great bears! I'd like to hunt behind hounds once before I get too old.
I look at bear pics and it seems that some areas have different shaped skulls. Your's look like longer muzzles. More bone and higher scores. Farther north where I hunt, the bears generally have shorter wider muzzles and are generally real meat heads.

The Toxic BH were the worst preforming BH I have ever seen. Hard quartering away shot through the ribs neither arrow passed through. I believe the hair bunched up and pretty near stopped the arrow in its tracks.

Congrats on some nice bears and good hound work!
Too bad the Toxic broadheads are even produced. Browning had the Serpentine broadhead 40 or more years ago....and Colorado banned them and other heads with the curved blades (blades not in a single plane) for the same reasons. A local guy ran some tests there and found they didn't penetrate hide worth a darn (but would core apples).

So Sorry to hear about the loss of Zoey, I hope the failed broadheads didnt have anything to contribute to the tragedy. My 7yr old daughter also sends her condolences. RIP Zoey
