Doing what we do in Nor Cal (pic heavy)

Joe and I will let the pics tell the stories and lead imaginations to fill in the blanks. For the first time in a long time (20 years to be exact) we had the wettest and longest winter in the books and it's still raining and green here. It's crazy! This definitely made for some henned up birds and changed up patterns. Places normally loaded with birds didn't have any and spots that did felt like virgin ground by the birds activity. We still got to play and got a few volunteers and had a blast doing what we do. Congrats to everyone on their seasons and we've enjoyed all your pics and threads as well!
Hunts begin with Kia's pics. We had a great time and Kia will be back for revenge .....

The gift,,,, passing it on
Until next time for this group!
Opening day general season....bird #1
Chris and I had a great opening day both tagging longbeards, here is mine
This was my setup from Chris angle
Few days later we took our buddy Chad out
Few days later I took another buddy out. First year bowhunting first bow kill ever. Was pretty cool
Beautiful pics. Keep it coming!!
My second... this bird put on quite a show! Gotta love DSD's!
Doesn't get much prettier...
Mother lode turkey calls by joe Slaton work quite well!
Joe and I next hunt my daughter Gia wanted to go bad so we elected to go with the blind. Gia became lucky charm this spring on a few hunts as you'll see.. she also did quite well at being still and quiet so she graduated to camo for natural later in the season.
Well when the boss is there and telling you she wants you to shoot even if they're jakes you do what the boss asks rt.... later told Gia that was last time we'd shoot jakes lol... but it was fun to see her reaction and enjoy the hunt.. what it's about!
As Gia watched joe and I doubled up when asked to do so..... she wanted us to shoot the "puffed up" ones :-)
Tradition after a successful hunt.
Top notch photography! Love it.
Joe and I took our buddy brandon who got on the board!
Does that ice cream tradition hold true for blacktails too! ;>}
Gia graduated to camo for natural and was joes lucky charm on this next hunt. It's a blast when she's with us!....
"she wanted us to shoot the "puffed up" ones"
LOL, that's great! Little kids are awesome. Grats on your season guys.
It was a freezing cold morning around 34 degrees and we were bundled up. A bird came in behind our setup but hung up 150 yards out due to thick vegetation. So I went Indian and got myself a 23 yard shot
Gia was the lucky charm. Little girl is spoiled she thinks it's gonna be like this all the time! Every time she goes somethin bleeds!
Absolute gorgeous bird. Fortunate to get an arrow in him!
"No selfies until we kill" JF
This hunt was cool cuz I roosted these 2 LB and the night before I got a pic of this guy getting his last piece!! Poor guy
Plan worked as I hoped. They found the dsd and it was game on
Mark got his second bow kill and was a happy hunter.
Took another good buddy who I went to kodiak with last fall and he scored on a good bird off the roost. Good times
I next had my uncle Jim up and again Gia joined us, so we had some luck on our side.... "NSUWK"
Some days are just meant for pics, this was one of them. Love this pic! Memories with family are priceless!
Uncle Jim always hammers down a big bird!
This bird almost didn't have any solid black bars. Cool light colors
Imo the most awesome looking birds period!
Let's throw a wrench in the pics... turkey naps anyone?
Resting his eyes for the moment of truth...
Back to the hunts haha... next We had our buddy Blake from Arizona out and Brent joined us... setup one didn't produce...
Our next setup worked as this gaggle of jakes came into the deeks!
Blake connected and killed his first bow kill turkey and Brent made it a quick double...
The next and last day for Blake we worked a few birds in some great looking country....
We finally found a bird locked in on hen and made an aggressive move.. it worked as Blake killed his second bird on his trip.
Excellent!
Congratulations on an outstanding season!!
Scar.
This spring's hunts were a blasts and like every spring we learned more about bowhunting turkeys as this year the major winter threw a wrench into the season but we seamed to make awesome memories with some success. Getting Gia out with us more this season also made things more memorable... kids with their innocents and personalities in the outdoors is what it's all about. And congrats to everyone else on their turkey hunts. We enjoy receiving all the pm's and helping others out and seeing more success in your woods. Now time to switch species and shift gears. Good luck everyone this summer and fall!
Did someone say turkey nap? Ha! Great pics as always gentlemen! I never get tired of looking at them. I know Kia and I will sit in our chair together tonight and scroll through them all again. When we get to the end she'll smack me for including this one! Good stuff, good people, and awesome memories. The great thing about bowhunting is one season always moves into another. Best of luck on whatever that next season may be!
great pic Brotsky! Cant wait until you guys can make it back.
As always...great photos and kick ass hunting !!

Fricken awesome photos!! Love it. I would absolutely love to do a little bowhunting with chad!! His style in the octagon really resonates with me and therefore is one of my favorite fighters. One day we'll sling some arrows together lol

We love turkey hunting!
Thanks everybody for the responses!
Yep a little sad our season is over too but I have to agree spring time in the woods with a gobbler going off is pretty special. Thanks for the great photos!
Turkey Slayer no doubt! Awesome! Thanks for posting. Great season and photos!
I have to ask, what image enhancement tools are you using? Are you just enhancing iPhone images or using a DSLR?
Great pics.....lots of wet birds, thanks for posting it up!
Great pics, great hunts. Well done. How many birds lives are you guys responsible for this year? I lost count!
Thanks gents! Quinn, both type of cams with an editor but not much is over done with the editing. To be honest a lot of the quality comes from and starts with setup such as prepping, angles, lighting, and presentation.
Sbh, ended up with a few. :-)
Huh, I never knew you guys turkey hunted. Very cool!
You guys ROCK! Awesome pictures. Thanks for sharing.
Congrats Chris and Joe on ANOTHER gobbler slayin' season!!
Incredible to say the least!
Mark
Your photo game is getting better and better. Great job guys!
Congrats on another successful season! The colors on your birds are AMAZING! Are the turkeys in your area pure rios? I bet you are already looking forward to next year.
Great job gentleman! Awesome season! Thanks for sharing:)
Great stuff .. one thing missing though .. Fat bald nj guys
Thanks guys! Jims they're rios here where we hunt but the state does have marriams, which some are an hour away and 3000 feet higher (according to the nwtf)... however we do get some awful colorful birds and some birds that look different in the same areas. Some spots we've killed doubles or one day after next which one birds that look like a typical rio and the one with him looks like an eastern with dark colors. Must be hybrid rios ;-)'
We workin on our photo game Dave. Always tryna get better :-) thanks everyone
Bad ass.... No doubt you guys are talented turkey hunters, but your photography skills are off the chart! Ed F
