I was in the bow shop yesterday looking at bows and the owner showed me a Hoyt CST he has for sale. It's a 2015 model. It looked and felt great and now I have the itch to buy this bow. I currently shoot a Hoyt Rampage xt and thought this would be a nice upgrade. He is asking $850 for it. Do any of you own or have owned this bow. What are you thoughts or opinions of it. Not looking for any brand x is better than Hoyt arguments, just honest reviews of the CTS.

Great bow, with a nice comfortable valley considering that it's a speed bow. One of Hoyt's better bows from the last few years. One thing to consider, if you're paying that much for a used bow....you could actually buy a 2017 Pro Defiant Turbo for roughly the same price. That gets you an improved cable guard design and no air-shox. At the sacrifice of a little more hand weight due to the alloy riser on the Pro Defiant.

Great bow, a little high on his price but it depends on if there are accessories included, etc. Bare bow on CST around $550 and CST ZT would be a $100 more. Definitely a fine bow though!

It is the ZT model and it is the bare bow, no accessories.

I've bought plenty of used Hoyts! No warranty has never been an issue

One more opinion for what it's worth....I've owned two turbos and have never been able to consistently shoot them as accurately as the non turbos.
The new Pro Defiant is an accurate shooter for sure
Good luck as you really can't go wrong.

That is a fair price for the Carbon Spyder Turbo ZT. You could get the aluminum spyder turbo used for $500 but would be really lucky to find a carbon for that price. The 2015's do have an upgraded cable guard over the earlier models. I have the 2014 and like it a lot. But the 2015 has a turbo cam that is faster at the expense of a slightly harsher draw. One advantage of the spyder over the defiant is you don't' need a specialized past parallel press. You could buy a little cheaper on line but will not get the same dealer service or set up.

Jerry Leblanc has it right. The 2014 has the Z5 cam which is a very nice smooth drawing and better holding cam than the 2015 turbo cam. The 2015 was 10 fps faster, but the 2014 was 340 ibo. I would rather have the 2014 personally.

BTW, the aluminum equivalent to the 2015 CST was the Nitrum Turbo. The aluminum equivalent to the 2014 CST was the Faktor Turbo.

I liked the 2014 better than 2015, better balance held on target much better

Great bow, a little high on the price. But go for it if it makes you happy.

Can't go wrong with the bow. Price seems a little high. Make him an offer, or ask him what his rock bottom price is. I'm sure he'd like to unload a 2/yo bow. Get it!

Starting price should be 75% of brand new no matter what since it is used so $850 is not unreasonable.
