Anyone have one of these?? I just ordered one and then I ordered the actual straw cover from midwest bale blinds to wrap it in. I was curious as to what folks think of them. There is not a lot of reviews on line. Looks like it should work perfectly in farm fields. Thanks!~Scooby

I have a redneck bale blind. A little bulky but works great in open fields.

Yes I went the lighter route and adding the straw blanket from mid-west bale blinds. The who thing will weight less the 60#s. Scooby

Got one. Love it. I've left it out for three seasons to get spring turkey season for the kids. Now it's time to replace the straw. Not a big deal for me to replace as I have a company in my home town that makes the straw mat material. You can buy that stuff cheap, wrap it and then cut out the windows. Way less expensive than buying the factory made one.

John, thanks. I have seen the straw mat material but some folks say it is awful thin. I may get a roll, I saw it on Amazon for pretty cheap. I have a spot here where a creek cuts a field in two and no tree for a stand for a within 150 yards but pretty thick along the creek. The deer cross here between 2 power lines like no tomorrow. I have tried regular blinds but even disguised the deer avoid them. I am gonna have the farmer set 2 round bales out there for me and put my blind in with them. Scooby

That will work. I've done the same thing. Once set, take some hay off the bales and put it on your blind. We had deer walk by the same day we put it up and they never paid any attention to it.

Scooby, I also put real bales out to "hide" my blind. Deer walked by day one.
I have the Muddy and Red Neck and both are great.
Good luck!

Curious as to if anyone has used the double net straw mats to cover these Muddy blinds like John. I have found it for about 70 bucks a roll shipped or would I be better off buying the straw blanket from midwest blinds and wrapping the Muddy. Thanks! Scooby

Scooby, have you ever thought of or tried using straw erosion blanket/matting? Maybe that is what you are referring too above. You cam get big rolls of it for not a lot of money and they look like they would work pretty well. I have plans of building one of these from scratch and that is what I had planned to use. Matting in my link.

You might try a seed/feed farm mill. Ask about matting for erosion control. Some good stuff.

I have found some at different places but it is very thin, even the double mat stuff is pretty thin. I am gonna go with the midwest bale blind stuff, it is "made" better I guess you would say. I got a great buy on the portable hay bale blinds so I ended up buying two. Scooby

Is that sale still on Scooby? I made 2 last year, wood frame and concrete mesh wire for body panel. Work very well, plan on making more out of electrical conduit and hog panel, so they last longer, might even put them on a raised base in the wet areas. They will be semi-permanent though. Killer on turkeys if you have some good strutting areas. It's a lot easier to play the wind direction during strutting time and having one set up on the downwind side of the timber patches and slip into it carrying just your bow and pack versus carting the pop-up blind around...
Wouldn't mind trying one of the lighter aluminum ones, be nice on the trips to KS and NE...would give me something to copy when I have time, lol.

Yes, but I also have a code for free shipping so I am getting the blind for $229 shipped which is 70 bucks cheaper then any where else I can find them. Pm sent! Scooby

you can probably buy it at a landscape supply store local and not pay shipping. I bought a roll and covered a homemade bale blind and had enough left over to and a second layer the next year
