HECS Stealthscreen

I just saw a program on the Pursuit Channel about this HECS clothing that is supposed to block your body's electrical field allowing you to get close to game. My impression of it is that it's on par with the idea of Tink's marketing of turkey scent. Maybe I'm wrong. Have any of you guys seen or used this HECS clothing ??
I've seen it. Not interested in trying it. I think I might pick up some turkey scent instead!
It's worth a try. Buy some and do a field test report for us as a service
HECS has been around for quite awhile. Faraday cage tech and I've always been beyond skeptical. Its been a struggle to not laugh when I see guys wearing the $300 sweat suit.
However this past turkey season I had a hunter who was wearing HECS. This guy has hunted with me for years so he got a rash over it. One day in the blind we had 2 birds come in to the dekes. One bird flogged the jake deke for 75 minutes (I was filming the ordeal) My hunter had already tagged out and we were really just waiting for our other hunter a couple hundred yards away to let us know he was done so we could head in.
Finally my hunter decides he will exit the blind and see how close he can get to the 2 birds. Mind you these birds are pretty distracted and focused on the dekes..... He leaves the blind and belly crawls to the dekes I was amazed as soon as he rounded the corner of the blind that the birds held fast. I was even more amazed when he was inches (like 5-6) from the bird to his head. Those birds paid him no mind till he reached out and goosed one.
Now these were horned up jakes all fired up beating a deke. Was it HECS? Was it wound up birds just overly focused...???? IDK but it was quite the sight to see and was exactly the kind of thing they show on their commercials. And... NO, I am in NO way affiliated with HECS other than witnessing this happen.
That does it.... I'm buying a set !!
I am not a believer. It may work though, if you are also wearing a scent blocking base layer (endorsed by a TV pro hunter), an ozonics machine, the long grunt tube which goes to the ground from your tree stand, an odorless urinal, a fake tree for the buck to rub on, and of course you can not close the deal without a Rage on the tip of your arrow.
Best unicorn hunting camo out there!
I just line my hat with tin foil. :)
If he could do that with a wild mature whitetail I might start listening...
U don't need a weapon. Just game bag and a taxidermist. U just reach out and grab em
Couple of years ago, my brother DROVE up to 2 gobblers that were fighting each other. He got out of the truck at about 50 yards and walked out to the birds taking pictures without any camo whatsoever. His dachshund also got out and tagged along. They were able to get up less than 10 yards from the 2 turkeys before they spooked. So if an uncamoed guy and a dog can walk up that close, I think a camoed guy crawling up would have gotten closer. Was NOT from the HECS.
Might have been useful the one time I tried Snipe hunting.....
Anybody know if it fits true to size?!!.......or makes you sterile?
If you want to pay all that money go for it. I would not use it even if it were free. I put hecs on the same level as scent suits, it sounds great and will hook plenty of hunters and more power to the guys hocking it, but I'll keep my cash and still shoot game.
P.S I have yet to see Mr Hec walk or crawl up to a deer, a turkey all horned up is nothing.
Thanks boubound, more excellent input.
"I just line my hat with tin foil."
I heard you get better results during a thunderstorm
I was being sarcastic...... I wouldn't buy that crap with your money .... ha !!
My dad bought me the whole set a couple years ago and I haven't ever put any of it on. He's old and just sits and watches tv so he's one of those "it's on tv it must be true" guys. I can walk out into my back yard with a scoop of corn right now and pet deer and kick turkeys away from my feet, I understand they are like Pavlov"s dogs but i cant buy into the whole idea of it. I've been meaning to test it one day just to see. Maybe I'll do that with some mule deer right down the road and see. I Don't argue the notion that animals have a sixth sense. I've witnessed that too many times to know it exists. But I think this is similar to the scentlok crap. You can cover your whole body in whatever but you still breathe and whether you want to admit it or not, it stinks. I think this falls into the same premise but maybe I'll take Bou up on the challenge and go test it and report back. I can just imagine the ridicule I'll receive if God forbid this crap actually works. I'll let you know.
The old saying about "A fool and his money..." has never been more true in the internet age.
Any independent research on this....ugh, no. I've seen leaps in logic where they take a shark that has receptors along the length of its body that can sense pulses through water- fact....then make a huge leap in logic extrapolating that to land mammals out of water. Might as well compare whitetails to oranges....
Follow the money...same guys pushing it are benefittting....speaks volumes
