Took my grandson out to chase critters this evening. He has been helping me move into the new house. Started at 6:15 and hadn't walked for 5 minutes and we saw 4. We walked for the next hour and a half until it was too dark to see. All in all we spotted 14. We snuck up on 2 to within 40 yds and would have had lots of shot opportunities. While sneaking up on those 2 heard a bugle probably about 300 yds away, which was answered by one that was probably 1/4 away.

Cool! Sounds like you had a great evening in the woods. Love that country around Young, AZ. Some of the coolest country in Arizona.

Live 30 miles north of Young, but have to agree any town that has a dirt road for the entry point is my kinda town.

I think they're like turkey gobblers will sound off any time of the year but peaks during breeding season...

Wilbur, right now it is high 40's to mid 50's at night. Gets up to high 80's in the day.
