New plot

Undiagnosed OCD son took the dozer I bought last year and turned a 60yd x 15yd Chic plot into a 3/4 acre food plot. Problem is a lot of the topsoil was dozed off and I now have a bunch of clay. Was thinking about spreading hay before I start tilling to up the organic matter. Haven't checked PH. Probably going to liquid lime and fertilize after tilling and put in clover/oat mix to try to try to turn clay into topsoil. Any suggestions???

Clover will grow in clay if you have the ph right. So will wheat. Probably nothing is gonna be optimal, but you have to start somewhere. I've never had trouble growing wheat, it will grow in your pickup bed if you spill some seed. Depending on how much topsoil is gone, this may be a 2/3 year project. Good luck !
