Would like to know what type of fletching glue everyone is using for vanes. I'll be using wraps also but have had trouble in the past with vanes sticking with fletch Tite. There are so many out there just wondering what would work best. Thanks

Loc-tite ultra control gel. Holds well and is inexpensive.

Clean everything with White Gas... It leaves no residue. Then use the Loc-Tite Gel!

Same here...Loctite Ultra Gel

Loctite Ultra Control Gel as well for me...I clean the vanes with clear PVC primer first.

I've been using Beyond Bond on Aluminum shafts (no wraps) with great results. Still wondering what to use for Carbon shafts?

I've been having good results with Goat Tuff

G5 blue glue. Stuff sits up quick and holds strong.

Boli super glue small tubes can do 6 arrows with one tube. The thing with super glue shelve live is not long after you open .I have used this off brand for three years now and it is as good as any.I get it at a local flee market for ten tubes for a buck.

"How long does it take the Loctite Gel to dry"?

About 20 to 30 seconds, then I release the clamp. I let the finished arrows dry 24 hours before shooting.

Best of Luck, Jeff

Fletchtite platinum with Blazer vanes and bohning wraps. No issues ever getting them to permanently stay on. Let them sit for an hr each in the fletching clamp.

AAE now sells a "fletch kit", in it comes a package: arrow wipes, a primer pen for the vanes and some max bond glue. I use this combo in my shop and it works wonders! Hold the vane for 15 seconds then move to the next! Good Luck!

Ditto on the Loctite. Love the applicator and lasts a long time.

What ever super glue you use it does have a 24 month shelf life unopened,if cold. Not saying it will not hold after that but it will be at reduced hold.

If you need to refletch an arrow, how do you get the super glue residue off without scraping the shaft to the bone?

Thanks guys. I'll probably try the super glue and see how it works out

Use a dull knife Lou. Not butter knife dull but struggle to cut cordage dull.

Just angle blade to scrape more than slice.

I've tried several and found G5 Blu Glue to be one of the best for adhesion......but if you get any over-run you can see the blue of the glue. Over on AT a fellow recommended Bob Smith Industries "Maxi Cure" and I found a 2oz bottle on Amazon for less than $10....delivered. That is WAY more than those 4g bottles of Loc-Tite and lasts a lot longer when opened. Those are the best I have personally used with vanes over caps.
