Axis buck rub on eucalyptus tree. 360 around it and about 4 feet high. Pic taken yesterday. Probably 20 trees hit up just like this in the area.

Really enjoying all the pics for folks scouting trips. Pretty cool, thanks much to all.

A lot of pics of rubs. What is the deal with elk and the trees they rub? Big ol animal like that and picks on the littlest scrub tree they can find...... why don't they go pick on something their own size?

Elk like a limber tree that they can sort of combat, ie, push and shove, and "horn".

I think they literally get off on "destroying" the tree they're rubbing. Helluva testosterone surge, to be able to grow antlers like that in a few months! They're all "jacked up" !
