Here in CO I have 24 days until the opener. I am worthless.
For once you can be glad your not in MT ;) 30 days to go over here.......
We won't be there till the 15th. I have to hold on a bit longer. I am in no way ready.
This time last year I was getting the final details ironed out for my archery season. On the 15th I got sent to Baton Rouge to help with the floods and missed the entire archery season. Finally going to get some time to dedicate to chasing the almighty wapiti this year. This has been a long time coming, so going to make every second count!
lucky you 43 here in Ct but who's counting
This weekend is trail cam time. Going up to get SD cards from 5 different cameras that have been simmering for a month. Really looking forward to whats been happening
Can't wait to see what your cams caught!
I'm a worthless mess from here on in.......to manscape or not to manscape.......
Apparently blowing my bugle in the office disturbs others...
Yes!!!! Can't wait to get back in the woods. Post those trail cam pics, please.
For me it never fails, somehow September always turns into a crazy busy time for me. Started looking to buy a house about 3 months ago with hopes of it not interfering with elk season but of course the market here in Co is ridiculous so it took some time. Long story short my closing is on Aug 31. Then we can start moving! Somewhere between that, work and 5 kids starting a new school I'm supposed to squeeze in an elk hunt. Sheesh!
Someone said to post my trail cam pics.
Here are 4 different cams, miles apart. OTC Public Land, all 1/2 mi- 1.5 mi from my vehicle
NICE! Thanks for the pics of the fuzzy buddies.
Cnelk, do you need someone to help you pack him out? Lol. Looks like you have a good area.
Dang...I'm getting excited...and I'm way over here in Britain!! Best I can do for the while is practice with my BHs, shooting paper elk vital targets with serious intent... Good luck and good hunting for the imminent elk archery season, wherever you happen to be
I am at 32 days. Yesterday, I had 8 bins of hunting stuff on my deck. Clean out tubs, sorted, resorted, and labeled bins. Made trail mix and bagged up. Final food has been ordered, new boots are expected this week, reserving my string, (Strand was almost broke), and plan on hitting a 3D this weekend.
I hit the gym 6 days last week. I keep visualizing climbing and sweating!
I have absolutely no idea where to go opening morning
Still 37 for me unless I swing out for a Labor Day weekend trip.
Heading to WY in 23 days! Just got back yesterday from a scouting trip, glad we did it too! Learned a lot about the unit & the lay of the land. Saw a fair number of elk as well! Heard a doz bugles, very nice!
24 days and I will be Wyoming bound. Between, shooting, biking and scouting for deer there is zero time available for work.
19, I'm a train wreck. Can't concentrate on work at all. Forgot my kids names yesterday.
Oh chit...I forgot about the kids......be right back.......
19 days but on my 7 until my white sturgeon trip!
19 til I arrive in WY for the first time.
31 still. I need it to hurry up.
After this past weekend I believe I know where I will be opening morning
Pat needs to add a widget to the title that will count down each day.
Z - how is the knee? Able to run without pain? Hike? Walk?
Moose in Newfoundland first then Kentucky Elk in 43 days.
Amoebus- Knee is ok as long as I don't run. (Downhills suck also, but I think I can power through that with Aleve or Hydrocodone if needed) Surgery scheduled for Dec 6th. Thanks for asking.
Very minor tweaking required after new serving. 3D went well. 40 targets and wore my pack w/60 lbs during the shoot. Also broke in my new Crispi Wyoming boots on the shoot.
Heading up to my spike camp in the Flat Top Wild Area on the 23rd in 10 days, for the opener on the 26th. Set up two trail cameras up there this week. I can hunt all 30 days of the season if needed. Good luck all. my best, Paul
I am headed to southern Arizona on the 23rd first day Coues Deer bowhunting will be the 25th. No Colorado hunts for me, just guiding this year.
