Heading to area near Douglas wyoming what is the mule deer population like in this area for 2017? Anyone have any good info
Thats Douglas not douglad sorry
You have to be more specific. West of the freeway is much different than east. I worked a ranch about 20 miles west for 3 years and we had decent muleys. Up to about 180. It was very rough country and I'm not sure an archer would have much luck.
Assume you're hunting a ranch? They'll be your best resource since the muleys vary widely across that whole region.

I don't know what it's like now, but when I lived in Wyoming in the 70's we hunted private ground in the area east of I-25 off US 18 and it was normal to see literally HUNDREDS of deer coming out of the bluffs and canyons down onto the hay meadows.
Call the deer biologist for the area and get an estimated population update and herd condition.
Was in the area about 2 weeks ago & saw quite a few deer & antelope.
The deer hunt takes place in area 22 if that gives you a better reference point
