Surprise yesterday. A taxidermist friend took a couple racks i had with broken skull plates, put them back together and mounted them on a board for me. I had forgotten all about them. Here is the sad part. I know I killed the mule deer in WY, when I was in college and I think I killed hion the Smith Sheep and Cattle Co., ranch near Douglas but not sure. All I remember about the whitetail is, it is a bow kill. Here is a tip. If you are going to save the antlers but not have them mounted, take a felt marker and write down the date and location of the kill on the skull plate. And...don't saw off a pair of 130+ antlers for rattling horns just because you figure it will be easy to kill one bigger.

I'm so glad this isn't about your significant other.

Yup, been doing that for years. The date really helps bring the memories back, plus helps you locate photos if needed.
