I hear folks saying it is prime time for elk to rub the velvet off this week. Anyone seeing velvet free antlers or evidence of rubbing so far this year? I have not.

If so, when and what state/region? Interesting to track I think.

Yeah he is unit 2 bull and has a great frame but is not a shooter. He would be the perfect Cull bull... He has an extra top on one side but is missing a 3rd, He has a great frame, good length up top, little weak on mass...

If you know anyone with a unit 2 tag and they are struggling I can give GPS coordinates, however he is real close to the WY boarder.

I saw one 4 point on a trail cam that looked like he had dreadlocks. Half peeled off and hanging.

Bulls in Utah were rubbed off last week while we were up there looking for mule deer.

Interesting Buglmin, All the bulls I saw scouting in Utah last weekend were all still in velvet. What general area were you in?

Aspen Ghost, lol, I was mentioning that even when I see them in the down town areas of Estes I immediately try to find "The Spot". I just happened to grab the photo I doctored up.

Checking cameras this weekend in Central CO, I'll report my findings Sunday night.

Is it me or are some aspens starting to turn colors? Saw several on our walk last night that were yellow and some leaves already on the ground. Probably all in my head and I just need to be hunting already!
