What do you tree stand gurus recommend for tree steps?

As I've gotten older, it's all ladder stands!

I use screw in steps. Bottom five are API sky hooks or bear claws that hang on a bolt and take the off when you leave

I use Jim stepp steps, the ones I personally use I cover in hockey tape and then they stack into each other so and when I fold up my portable I lock the steps into the stand all the metal is covered so no noise and a very quiet and light set up for those scrub oak type trees that are impossible with a climber, they aren't made anymore but I have an original un used set forsale if your interested..

Depends, I have 60 plus stands and have used most everything from giant nail to huge lag bolts but as far as screw in Ameristep grizzlies are very good they are a heavier gauge steel. Shawn

I've been using Lone Wolf sticks for the last about 10 years. I really like them. I hang and hunt every time I go. Takes me about 12 minutes to get set up and in my stand with 4 sticks and a Lone Wolf Alpha hang on.

Cheap climbing sticks from Menards or Fleet Farm for a lot of the stands that stay out on our land. Muddy and Lone Wolf climbing sticks for mobile.
