When I returned from my hunt I was a little overwhelmed though. I had a cooler with 200 pounds of meat and the novice thoughts of HAVING to get it processed ASAP. I also had a stinky, over-ripe elk head on the side of my house. Please note, I live in suburbia hell in a "typical" neighborhood where it's common courtesy to say "Bless You" when your neighbor sneezes. Here's where I was blessed with the support of some hunters; Bowsiters, locally and from online!
I want to thank Anthony (Atfrith on most forums) for donating to me a free head cleaning he won in a contest. I am so grateful!
Thank you to Matt at Rocky Mountain Head Cleaners for doing such an amazing job!!! I got to tour his shop yesterday and I was blown away by the heads he has in the shop and what an amazing system he has. This guy has it DOWN and I was so happy to spend an hour with Matt. The beetles did an amazing job and left behind ALL of the minute bone in the nasal passages and elsewhere, SO cool!!! Please check out http://www.rockymountainheadhunters.com/ for an amazing head cleaning! Matt is THE MAN!
Thank you to Brad for meeting up with me and for letting me drop off my elk's head in his barn when Matt got stuck in a meeting, lol. That thing was sooo gross!
Now for the results.......
Looks awesome!!!

Wonder how many bowsiters have a white couch? /:^)
I will say though I am thrilled to have it hanging where it is. It's the first thing I see when I enter through the front door, the first thing I see when I come down the stairs and the last thing I see when I go to bed. I almost didn't want to hang it yet because I was having fun just checking it out in detail, rubbing the antlers, feeling the skull...my wife was getting jealous, lol.
One suggestion. You could put some type of accent lighting on it, so when you get up in the middle of the night to look at it “one last time” you won’t wake anyone else up! ;-)
