Here's a set up that is at my local 3d range and it got me to thinking, which one would I shoot first in the real world?

I'm assuming that I have tags for both. If I shoot the elk first I'll either lose the lion or have a serious problem. If I shoot the lion first, the elk would probably bolt.

Hmmmmm.

What would you do

The Elk, might get a shot on the cat on the dead elk later.

Assuming a tag for both, is it really a question? The lion all day long.

Lion....absolutely. Opportunities too far and few between.

Ditto Pat. The odds of having a shot at a lion without dogs are slim. Plus the lion is better eating. Seriously.

Without a doubt...the cat.

If you shoot the lion first I'm pretty sure you'd still get a shot at that elk, considering he doesn't have any legs.

I would take the lion because its very likely I'd never have that opportunity again. I can find another elk.

Wait for the Lion to take down the elk then shoot the Lion and finish off the elk, tag both and make my 6 kids pack it all out for me!

Cat! There are more elk.

Lions are delicious. Shoot the cat!

Lion for sure....

Even if the bull was 350 I would still shoot the cat.

I'd covey shoot.

Flock shoot and miss em both.

Bowfreak & APauls gave me an idea. Just like the movies, put 2 arrows on the string and get them both...

Less than .01% will ever shoot a lion under non-hound situation with bow.

I'm with the Scotch double group...wait until the cat is locked on and take em both with one arrow! Conservation at it's finest LOL

Not even a question, unless the bull was at or approaching the 400 inch mark. I'd shoot the cat every time unless the bull was just ginormous.

If I had tags for either or both, I would not be thinking about 3-D targets. I would be hunting live animals.

I did shoot a lion while elk hunting this year.....does that make me a .01% guy ;)

Elk, more meat, then hunt the carcass for tabby or a bear. Bear's better eating than cat. It don't taste like chicken.

Pat x10.

Unless of course you are from CA...... =D

Good grief Willie..... you are a machine, that's a fact..... congrats!

Id shoot the lion first, the elk wont get very far without legs, I'll have time for a follow up shot on him after the lion.

lion, better meat.

I'd wait for the exact moment when the he lion goes for the elk. Take the shot when the lion is in mid air and before he lands on the elk, get a pass through the lion and get the elk, easy.
