This is my daughter Brina’s first deer hunt. Legal shooting light is right now. We’re in a Double Bull just a few yards from a frequently used game trail that I’ve shot a few small bucks off of.

She’s shooting a Mission Menace II and VPA tipped Arrows that we honed to razor sharp last night.

The nice thing about this spot is that the wind really helps coming off this ridge and the thermal takes it into no-man’s-land. The deer always come from the other ridge so they’d have to get past one of our 3 shooting windows to get our wind.

Sunrise is in 15 minutes. Between now and sunrise is usually when the deer come through.

She’s been shooting lights out to 20 yards, but I have the blind so that most of the shots are 7 yards give or take. There’s one 15 yard shot. When we started shooting out of the blind in practice, she didn’t shoot from the seated position with enough consistency so I had her start shooting from her knees and she went back to drilling bull’s eyes.

There’s a house about 500yards away and they’re making a ton of noise doing I don’t know what. Going to rattle again.
