I hunt in Vermont. It is beautiful country but hunting is difficult. I hunted over forty hours with a bow in early season and saw five deer. I am not good enough with a bow to consider a sixty yard shot so no shooting opportunities. We do have some deer to hunt and many landowners allow me to hunt their lands. Next weekend I will shift to my rifle and hope to take a buck. After rifle season I hope to hunt with my muzzle loader. In this time I will hunt many hours and maybe get one or two shot opportunities. Every deer taken will be a trophy. Every pound of venison will be shared and enjoyed. I hope those with an abundant supply and frequent opportunities will revere the gift the way we do here. Hunt hard and shoot straight, Bob

I'm with you brother !! I'm way more of an all weapon hunter than a bowhunter even though I love to hang out here on the Bowsite..... I haven't had any luck yet this year with a bow and the next time I'm able to get out it will be with a rifle...... It's all good !!

I've hunted areas like yours - it made me appreciate all the deer I killed down south with me and my kids.

I bowhunt every September/October, then I rifle hunt every November. I'd rather kill everything with my bow, but I have absolutely no problem with getting out the rifle. Some bowhunts are a lot less challenging than some of the rifle hunts. Good luck Green Mountain, hope you enjoy your hunting.
