Hunting what we call the rock stand today. As you can probably guess it's located adjacent to a bolder about the size over a vw bug. The stand is at the edge of a hardwares 35 yards from a 10 acre pinelot. I'm looking slightly uphill with the pines to my right. It's 27deg. with a slight southerly breeze. I can hear a deer approaching through crunchy leaves. Steady footfalls.

I can clearly hear the deer chewing acorns and the shells falling to the ground.

One buck fed uphill through hardwoods and the one that walked under my stand is crunching slowly away through the pine lot to my right. I just received a text that a good family friend is on his way to the local hospital after almost severing a thumb after discharging a crossbow with his thumb on the rail. It cut down to, and broke the bone. My brother was hunting with him and got the bleeding stopped before he drove himself to the hospital. Hope he's ok. Another reason to keep the ole Mathews.

Got busy packing for home and forgot to end live hunt post. I Finished out the day in the orchard stand. Two more small bucks chasing does. Also saw another big doe with two fawns. My son had a shooter eight go by at 60 yds. He took his buck back in October.
