Many mixed emotions when a world class 8 point I've been after was killed by another local hunter. When I first found out yesterday I wanted to puke. Feel a little better today after being in contact with the lucky man since he was a friend of my dad's. I have over a hundred pics of him thru the summer and early fall and guesstimated he'd score 160" ish... not willing to believe he was really pushing 180"! I've never had pics of any bucks over 135" in my area so I was beyond shocked when he showed up. Many congrats to the lucky man and cheers to an awesome buck!

Great buck! I would like to see a harvest photo as I'm having a hard time getting very close to 180" wrapped around my mind with what I see in those pics.

I do have a harvest photo but I didn't ask him if I could share it so I'd rather not... anyhow he said one G2 is just over 14" and several others are close to that. He also said my nighttime pics don't show the true mass.

He also said my nighttime pics i sent him don't show the true mass. The guy is like me and the numbers really don't matter much. That's the score his taxidermist gave him after measuring. Just a great deer.

That is some kind of right brow tine! Very nice buck. I too have a hard time seeing him scoring that well as an 8 point

I could easily see him up into the 170s. Main beams are deceiving. Any measurements on the deer? Wouldn’t doubt the main beams are 28”

Mains were right at 28. 3's were 13 1/2 & 13 7/8.

Not seeing it....his right side G2 is weak....he does have good main beams but he is also lacking in mass. Don`t get me wrong that is a whale of a deer but not 180"ish 8 pointer.

Based on 28" mains and the G-3 measurements you gave, I came up with 177".
Love the main beams turning up like that!!

Awesome deer! Very similar to a big eight I posted a pic of a few weeks ago. A monster eight would be about tips on my list.

my son got this on his cam a couple times but not seen him. Poor pic as its off my phone. He just killed a real nice 10 though
