These are some of the many mule deer photos I was able to take this fall. I had fun with my bow in years past, but I am having a blast now with my camera!

Have a great bowhunt. BB

Definitely some fine calendar shots there.

Way to go Bill, keeping them stalking skills sharp.

Excellent pics! This buck appears to be in several photo's with one being reversed. It also looks like some of his points are missing in the first photo. Is this the same deer or two different deer? Either way great pics!

Fantastic pics Bill! What camera set up and lens are you using?

Excellent as always BB! The photo of the doe with the buck behind her. That is a whitetail doe, correct? Also, it seems like you are extremely close when you photograph these animals, which I know in part is due to a telephoto lens. What would you say on average, that the distance is you are away from them when photographing them?

“This buck appears to be in several photo's”

LOL - if I were so fortunate as to see a buck like any of these while in possession of a good camera, you can bet I’d have as many pics as I could get!!

Just awesome bucks.... And that one non -typical... look at that belly line! He’s not even an Old Dude yet!

Here's yet another different buck, that looks like a couple of the others.

JL those two bucks are two different bucks and those photos were taken about 300 miles apart.

t-roy, no they are all mule deer. I never get to an area where I can take any whitetail photos, but I am hoping maybe next year to change that. On the distance thing, I am usually too far away and under lensed, or too close and over lensed. Its kind of like bowhunting, they are too close you can't pull your bow back, or too far you can't shoot! Ha Ha. Some shots are at 100 yards. Most are around 50 plus or minus a few and some are as close as 15 yards.

Ironbow I shoot Canon cameras (3 different models) and an assortment of Canon lenses. The lens I use the most, especially on mule deer where I have to move around a lot, is the new. version of the 100-400.

Thanks to all of you for the nice comments.

I am the kind of guy who gets addicted to things in the out of doors. It was bowhunting for over 50 years, but this photography thing sure has set its hook in my butt. I get to use all I learned from bowhunting in this endeavor and I get to shoot a whole lot more bucks and have more neat experiences than I did when I bowhunted. So I think its the best of the two worlds.

I will always love bowhunting and be indebted to it for all it taught me and for all the neat people I meant on that journey. But like bowhunting, photography has brought me a whole new group of friends too.

Have a great bowhunt. BB

These are two bucks I thought I was going to watch battle, but when the smaller of the two charged the larger buck, the big guy took off and it didn't happen. This is actually two different photos, I combined, as they both approached each other.

Have a great bowhunt. BB

BB, thanks. I thought because of the very unique forked kicker it was the same buck and another point or two matched up so I thought it was a reversed photo.

Very nice! With photography you can go many places that doesn't allow hunting, or very limited and be able to see animals that you would never bow hunting

Jl, I hope you are still looking in, as this ones for you. It shows one of the bucks antlers a bit better than the other photos and you can easily see from this one, they are two different bucks, as this one has those weirds stickers on both sides of his antlers, whereas the other on just had it on one side.

Have a great bowhunt. BB
