2017 was a good one. Enjoy some pictures from my season. Hunt
Winter was a cold one in Montana this past year. But we made it. Hunt
Don't threaten me with a good thread :)
We started building a new house last year. So I? had plenty of late nights working. But I? had plenty of good help from friends and family. Hunt
About the end of February . I? was ready for a break. Always a fun time with family and friends. Hunt
Almost done! Ready for a break.
Almost done! Ready for a break.
By the end of March the house was almost done and the turkeys are fired up .
First of April. We moved in April 3. April 4 the truck was packed and pointed to Nebraska ! Hunt
For years Nebraska turkeys was on my list. Thanks to a badass from Bowsite we had a blast. More birds and beers than sleep. Thanks Beav . A friendship for life was made.
Beav also turned me on to the best fish I? have every eaten.
On the way home we hit a snow storm. But that didn’t stop this eastern Montana bird from crossing the road!
I've been waiting for this one Hunt! Congrats on yet another incredible hunting season and the new pad!
It’s always a mission of mine to introduce someone new to turkey hunting . This year it was 3 newbies. Robert was up first.
The next morning . Me and Robert doubled up. Good times! Hunt
This little guy had a blast in Idaho also.
Great pics !!!!thx for sharing
Awesome photos, great season for sure and congrats on the new home!
I wanna be like Hunt when I grow up!!!

A few weeks later on a rainy day they both killed birds on the same set. Good time
It was may now and time for yard work. Glad I? had some good help
Awesome so far! Glad to see at least ONE guy was OSHA compliant in the framing pic ;-)
This hunt here was my one of my all time favorites. Fellow bowsiter Matt and his boys on a great turkey hunt. You could not have smacked the smile off my face.
Soon it was June and time for bears and 3D .
Matt’s boy was the first to put down a bear.
Soon these boys from Nebraska showed up. Watch out bears!
Those boys are killers. 4 great bears in 3 days . Fun times
After the guys tagged out. They helped me lay the rest of my sod. And we drank a few beers and laughed alot
Little mid day break

July found me and my best friend doing a 65 mile 4 day river float. It was a great time.

When we got home. There was a little smoke above the house. No big deal or was it!
Fast forward to the worst fire season Montana has seen in years. August 12 lights are flashing and someone is banging on my door at 2am. The fire is coming down the hill. Shit !
The next few days we battled the fire .
The national guard kicked us out after a few days . Good thing antelope season was open.
The next day on his birthday Roger gets a good one!
The next few days we scouted for elk and made a plan.
Cam looking for his first archery bull!
Cam looking for his first archery bull!
Sept 1 . We hike in for a 3 day bivy hunt!
We find a few bulls and sleep didn’t come easy as they bugled most of the night .
They are singing good in the grey light of opening day . Soon Cam is at full draw!
We go on autopilot and soon the bull is boned and in the packs.
We go on autopilot and soon the bull is boned and in the packs.
2 bulls are going good . One low and one above us. Cam is at full draw. In a second a whack rings out and I see Cam let down. Roger made a good shot and Cam got a great show on his first day bowhunting elk.
We put the meat over the creek below camp and cover it with fir limbs. The flies are bad. The tag bags work great and keep The eggs off the meat. After the morning hunt we decide to hike the meat out and get it on ice. Load up. 6 miles on way. With a heavy pack.
Living large and helping the next! Good on you sir!
Never gets old.
Never gets old.

It was a great day. And I? can’t wait till Ridge gets his first buck. He says that he killed this one when anyone ask. That’s ok by me
Sept 15-25. Was my elk hunt. On the 17 th this bull Let me get a little to close.
He was a old busted up warrior.
The rest of my elk season was spent helping Cam try for his first archery kill. We had lots of close calls and some bad weather.

You are an incredibly blessed man, as many of us are. You are living a life that a lot of bowhunters on the east coast like me could only dream of as far as hunting opportunity, and without knowing you one bit, can tell that you are great at making the most of those opportunities. There are a lot of accomplished hunters on this site that i just look at in awe, and you are definitely one of them. And on top of it all, your always positive attitude towards others and also about what you do is great. I'd tell ya to keep on keeping on, but you was gonna anyways. Always enjoy following your threads, can't wait for the next one....
Congrats on a great year! I was looking forward to this thread... rightly so... and now I'm looking forward to your Alaskan hunt thread.

Awesome, awesome, awesome. What a year, and what great pics. Can't imagine how awesome the memories are. Congratulations on a fine year! So cool to have and include your son whenever you can. Funny my daughter is close to the same age and we do all the same things together - target shoot, butcher animals, great times. We also moved this summer - I just killed less animals! Good luck in 2018.
Hell of a year! Congrats man.
That's an awesome year! Thanks for bringing us along. Hope you built a big enough trophy room in that new house.
Livin' right and doing it in style. Congrat's bro. Nice house too.
