Before & After Your Taxidermist Work
Whitetail Deer

I thought it would be great to see some before and after photos of all the great whitetail deer taken here on Bowsite and if your experience was a good as mine. The past few WT mounts I had done came out terrible.
I picked up my whitetail mount from last year a few weeks ago while in Illinois from Smith's. When I first dropped off my deer last year, I thought he had a bit much going on and I was a little unsure, but after seeing they work they produced and options, I felt my mount was in good hands. I have to say, they where very proactive with the process and even sent a pre-pick up photo to insure I was happy. ( 1st photo on the left ) You can see where the buck had a white spot at the bottom of the base on the right. After I shot him, he ran right into a tree and busted that base up a bit.
I mentioned it and they asked if I wanted it dressed up, and well, I went for it and it looks great. Just a little stain to hide the white.
Here is a photo right after shooting him, then the mount before pick up and then on the wall. I think they are very close.
One of the cool features is I also opted for a extension swivel bracket that moves the mount off the wall, second photo.
Looks like he has a glandular problem ;-) Huge neck on him for sure. Looks like he did an awesome job. Beautiful mount! Congrats, Rich.
T-roy, are you trying to say nicely that his buck was a fat a$$. :( Great looking buck.
Looks great, Rich!
This one of my favorite mounts. The taxidermist had contract work with exotics and not taking whitetails at a great volume any longer. Plus he's aging. He was a great taxi. Glad I got my largest done by him.
DAMN NICE MOUNT!!!!!!! LOVE THE ATTITUDE IN IT...
Actually this muley may be my favorite. My taxidermist hated it, because his summer coat was so thin. I personally LOVE the patchy summer coat
I don't know why I can't turn that middle pic

Great looking deer guys... one thing I see consistent is the "rut" size necks is carried over onto the mount with the forms selected.
Nice pics and mounts of some really nice bucks ! Bowhunter, I really like those "high and tights"
The after combined. I did everything except the mounts themselves. Lots of memorable aspects incorporated into the pedestal and the other components as well.
Well T-ROY you just shut this thread down, ain't nobody that can follow those(:
Great deer and mount rich. Wow
Thx Bou.
Troy just wow!
Bake... is the velvet the actual or spray on ?

Beautiful mulies, longshaft. Love the base as well. What type of wood is that?
Matt always lets me in on his pictures!

We had a replica made for the lodge where we hunt!
My (then) 17 yr old daughter missed this buck at 14 yds, when he spooked I got him to stop at 29 yds with a loud bleat and made the shot. Really dissapointed my daughter didn't kill him, but she was working for a taxidermist and mounted the buck for me. My favorite mount of all time. ;-)
Here is the buck. It would have been her first buck too!
